I will be in California in the San Jose area for about a week in August or September. My wife and kids will not be with me so it will just be me and my Challenge Stradale. I plan on driving it a lot while I am there and would love to go to any Ferrari gatherings that might be happening, or events, or track days with the car while I am there. Even if it isn't that close, I will drive and am looking forward to the drive! I do not know the area well, and it would be nice to get to have fun with and meet other Ferrari owners at least one day while I am there. Thank you!

Also, if anyone is wondering, this is the car. Shipping it over from Kauai at the end of June to have some work done on it. I have a meeting I need to have with a doctor in Mountain View, CA anyways, so I am going to time it for once the car is done so that I can enjoy it on the mainland and roads there for a bit before I fly back to Kauai and ship to car back to Kauai.

For my area (San Jose South Bay) the best driving is the area west of where you will be in Mountain View.

google maps “Alice restaurant” and there are always a great group of cars hanging out and then you can drive up and down the 35 and highway 9 and highway 1.

    it’s all amazing.

During car week, it looks like I’m going to have 3 spare tickets to The Quail a Motorsports Event. I went for the first time last year (it was amazing sights and food).

Just couple of weeks ago I did some of the aforementioned Hwys 1, 9, 35, 84, etc and found all intriguing and worth the while, but doing them during a weekday might provide less traffic congestion.
See additional comments on the thread "Any C & Cs in San Francisco ?" few topics below this one.

Not sure if it interest you or fits your schedule but Ferrari Club of America is having it's International meet "Annual Experience" at the end of August (27th - 31st) in Bend, Oregon area, followed by another few day driving event called "Drive Oregon".

Thank you everyone. Yes, I will keep you all updated. Having to wait for dates until the shop at least has the car. Then I also really need to find a rental for me that has a garage for the car. I usually just have a rental and stay at a motel while I am there. Want to have something a little better if I am going to be driving the Ferrari around.

That interests me a LOT actually. That's exactly the kind of thing I am looking for. I just need to find a rental with a garage (Or at least somewhere safe to park the car) along the way and if I am there that time of year, I would love to join that.

Also, has anyone used Mr. Tint before? Planning on having them install a clear tint UV protection on the windshield while it is there.

I can recommend OCDetailing in Fremont. I took my F430 there for exactly that and a ceramic coating on the paint. They regularly work on exotics. Talk to Joe, the owner, if you call.

I believe both of these are "club members only" (multi day) events and require (pre-)registration, so if you're a member, just go to their website for details, including costs, hotels, etc and if you're not, might be worth joining.

Last I heard, this might be the last (International) FCA Annual Experience currently planned, but don't quote me on it.

Thank you. How was the work on the windshield? And how did they protect the dash during install? That's a definite concern of mine with the delicate Alcantara CS dash.

I do not know honestly. I didn’t see any marks or scuffs on the dash when it was done though. Went with 3M crystalline. I was very happy with the results though. I’ve since gone back for other vehicles and costing of the wheels when I got them.

Maybe a year ago I drove the 1 toward the city so I could drive the long tunnel at “devils slide” and I did one decent rip to get the sound i was looking for and I’d be lying if I wasn’t nervous….I did first drive north thru the tunnel and then looked for cops before turning around and doing the rip southbound
