Showed up in a routine eBay search for 308 bits. These centerlock wheels are certainly not from a 308, and the seller is clueless. Are they from a Boxer or TR, perhaps? 1976 FERRARI 308 GTS ALUMINUM RACING WHEELS ESTATE FIND NO RESERVE | eBay
I have no idea what these are but for sure they are not 308. Could be 512BB but not enough information.
Somebody is about to get rich....LOL! Tom S is probably already bidding.... Those are HUGE!!! Bigger than TR to my eye, and older too (I recognize the back side ribs)... Those are most likely of a BB512 LM spec, or perhaps the Deep Rears of the Comp Daytona, where they are like 11" deep (wide)??? A shame they don't know what casting code stamps are, but that's a great series of pics, of duct tape on the weights....LOL!
Bidding should close at $8K to $10,000.oo USD to someone that knows what they really are........ EDIT: After reading the description, the reference to 16.5" is troubling......that's 390mm. So I guess this is a bastard set off of a street 512BB, or an early TR. A shame......lobster trap weights....
They are way, way wider than anything "street". I'd guess that the Seller has wrongly measured the physical outside dimensions rather than the bead dimensions (so we still don't know what size they really are -- but, if he did measure the outer OD at 16.3", they could be 15" wheels). Just the steel spline centers make me want to bid (and resell) -- but I'm not going to Wisconsin to pick them up . If someone is really interested, ask the Seller for these bead dimensions: Image Unavailable, Please Login
those are massive. way too big for a BB. maybe from a BBLM. or a comp daytona as alan suggested. just had another look.....those might be from an F1 car..... 15" diameter but 23.5" wide???
the rear wheels on my BB also had no size or manufacturer date stamped, not positive and not negative. but they are 11 x 15, the front with 9 x 15 are stamped as positive, but also no manufacturer date
