Ahahahahaha. Olivier on the TDF I understand the stripes due to the racing heritage of the Tour de France. On the F12b where elegance and simplicity are some of the atributes of the car, IMO stripes are a bit out of place.
That's a good question. Changing a car look by applying body kits, extravagant wheels, etc, etc, is a practice that some owners can't live without because they seek above all a car that looks different from all the rest. In the case of Ferraris and also other sports cars top models from other brands, there are several companies specialized in this niche market and their business consist basically in designing and supplying accessories that can change completely the look of any original car. Because these companies deal normally with wealthy owners, the more the car is travestied the bigger is the bill and subsequently their profit. Most of the F12's we see with these body kits I presume must have aerodynamic results less efficient than the original car and that makes me wonder what's the purpose of spending such a big amount of money in a car to make it less efficient and invariably less pretty.
