Are you still friend with your Ex ?

No. friendly but not friends. We send an email or text message back and forth now and then. Any conversation starts out ok but then the little digs start. I just don't call or answer her emails or send any for a bit 'till i think the coast is clear but it really never is nor will it ever be.

I would say I'm on friend terms with most of my ex's, or at least I was when we lived in the same area.. I've either moved or they have.

In a dating sense (marriage is another animal entirely) I've never understood how people can remain bitter after some time has passed. Just move on and be glad you didn't waste any more time than you did. If you look at and treat ex's for all of their good points and avoid any expectations (which you can do now) being friends is pretty easy.. Just don't expect it to happen overnight.

 

I still socialize (rarely) with #2 (divorced 14 years ago). It helps me stay focused on how much better life is without her. Usually about 15 minutes is enough to satisfy the need. Her current boyfriend is a nice guy but as dull as it gets. They deserve each other.

I see #1 (divorced 23 years ago) about once a year. We don't socialize but have friends in common. Ancient history, no need to go there again.

 

Wouldn't call it friends, but still in contact with one of them. We keep touch about once a year just to stay updated...She is Batcrap crazy now though and seems to be using the act of getting knocked up (she has 4 under 5) as a way of staying together with her husband. Glad I got unloaded by her or I wouldn't have met my wife.

For the sake of my 2 small children, I have no choice but to be friends with the ex. We actually get along better now than when we were married. We usually talk at least twice a week regarding something having to do with the boys and still live within 8 miles of each other. But we both have moved on and have new significant others...

It's never the same, and it'll never be just a normal "friendship." That is, unless SO much time has passed that you no longer remember what it was like being together. Better to go make new friends, or better yet, new "special friends." Plus, most girls don't like the ex's hanging around anyway.

I was married for 25 years to my ex. I have two daughters, and both chose to live with me after the divorce. I even received child support from her for 3 years. We spoke only because we had to while the girls were still living with me. She had a public hatred for me that was a little scary.

Both girls are now college graduates and we speak a little more. Neither of us remarried. She has a steady boyfriend that lives somewhere else, and I don't even date. My ex even traveled with me to my youngest daughter's college graduation in Florida. We got along fine, it was a bit uncomfortable, but there were no blow-ups or drama.

We have been divorced since 2000 and it seems like a LONG time ago. It has been long enough that I don't really remember much detail about those 25 years. It's almost like looking back and recalling your high school years. There were some fun times and some bad times, but if you try and remember anything about all those days in school where nothing much happened, you have a hard time seeing anything at all of your time there. It feels like it was someone else that was married and miserable for so long.

I looked at her very carefully while we were in Florida, and for the life of me, I don't understand my initial attraction to her. I honestly don't know what I saw in her.

No, she still tries to play stupid games with me but I already told her she won.

 

I stopped playing the games too. Once I stopped playing there was no interest to keep the game going on the other end. I still hear from her, and like to see how she is doing, but I don't respond. That it only to keep myself in check and not get wrapped up again. It is difficult.

Anyway, no, I don't speak to any of my exes. I used to be friends with all of them, but over the years I've moved or whatever, we don't talk any more. There was one girl I stopped talking to. Wow was she crazy. We dated a week and she wrote a book (scrap book style) of everything we've done together. Really freaked me out.

Wow, I've been in a relationship with some crazies but this is very creepy and is one of those unmistakable clear cut signs that it will be a long crazy road ahead.

Had one that demanded to be slapped as hard as I could on her face and spit on her when being intimate. I'm all for fun and games but this was just a bit too out there and crazy for me. She also, within the first month of dating stormed out pissed out of a bar because I was talking to some of my friends and neglecting her...for 5 minutes.

 

Tried it, but it just didn't work. As soon as she gets a boyfriend my friendship does not matter. We talk a couple times a week shortly, maybe get something to eat, but friends? Not really.

 

On excellent speaking terms with nearly all my ex's. Some I don't know where they are.
