I have a question for everyone who owns resin 1:18 Ferraris.... How long have you owned a resin car before the glue becomes weaking and small detailed parts are becoming fragile and felling off the car?

I have 166 which I have owned it for four years now and one corner of the drivers side window/etched frame is separating from the painted body. I had to use white glue and toothpick to re-glue it. I relized over time, these type of cars become weak and they fall apart and there goes your $600 model... Nothing last for ever! :(

Would anyone care to post your experience and horror stories about their resin Ferraris and would still buy them for your collections???? Die cast vs. Resin models!

    it depends...
my models never see direct sunlight, and in my showcases I don't have any form of light other than the lights in the room or daylight.
Lighting in the showcases creates heat, direct sunlight has UV.
Because most models are handmade, there are flaws.. to little or wrong glue, and sometimes they are not put together as well as they should.

I have a lot of older models, and in the 1980's resin and the use of resin wasn't as good as today. I have an extremely rare lusso (in 1:14) of which the resin has shrunk. The doors and trunk( whitemetal) don't fit accurately anymore..
I also have 1:43 BBR models that were made around 1985 that are still mint!

A handmade product isn't allways perfect..

All of mine are still good! As said above, keep them out of UV light and you should be fine. All my models are kept on shelves away from direct sunlight and are in good cases.

I actually stay in the habit of keeping the blinds 90% closed in my office at all times since I have two computer monitors. I have some art in there as well. All in good covered frames, but I am anal. Plus IMO some good lamps are better then sunlight anyway. :D
