I think it's a really cool concept actually. I like the design work there.

This is what the F12 should have looked like.

How so? And respectfully, why is this such a big issue for you? I sincerely don't understand. There has never been a thread on this forum that stays on track......

He's correct, this time, about the appropriate location. But the presentation of his request here and to the mods leaves something to be desired.

With all due respect to everyone - I just don't understand the big deal. With this car, the argument is pretty clear - modern day car flavored after a vintage icon. How that is not relevant to this section is something I don't understand.

    Duly noted with apologies.
If I'm not mistaken, the "Vintage (thru 365GTC4)" forum section is intended to discussions/topics directly related to vehicles produced by Ferrari during a certain era (up to early-to-mid 1970s) and model lines (up to 365 GTC4) .

I thought it was from the factory but after reading the article I see it is after-market.

Honestly, this car is about as relevant to the 250GTO as an Elvis impersonator is to Elvis.

I don't care in which forum it appears (I'm only glad I'm not the one who has to decide these things - there will always be someone who disagrees with whatever the mods decide), this is a fine looking car and much nicer than the F12 / 812 on which it is based. I hope Ares goes ahead with the project - if only I could afford one!:(

    Agreed wholeheartedly.

Dave, the subject of this thread is not "vintage' Ferraris, nor is it replicas of "vintage" Ferraris." The subject of this thread is a coachbuilder's intention to offer alternative coachwork to F12 and 812S owners. While the design shown contains elements that were clearly inspired by the 250 GTO, it is still a thoroughly modern design on a modern car, done with no attempt to replicate vintage coachwork. Naturally, the discussion in this thread is going to be most relevant to F12 and 812S owners and enthusiasts, which is why I have moved the thread here.

But this is obviously an F12 - or 812 - (with a re-designed body), not a vintage car; it's not even a "re-creation", it's only (losely) inspired by the GTO.

Without checking, my memories are that Dany Bahar did a pretty good job to make money from merchandising for Ferrari, but failed to impress when running Lotus.
So his ability to deliver may be questioned, but that's not a real concern unless actually ordering the car - as long as we only comment the look, we do not have to worry...

This gross attempt of a cash grab who’s design is disgusting, lifeless, superficial, vapid regurgitation without any originality, integrity or meaning. Horrendous. Shame on them.
