Hi everyone I´m going to Buenos Aires next friday and I´d like to know.. are there any interesting car places I should visit? Like a Ferrari dealership, or Pagani, or something like a museum.. anyway.. Could you help me ?? Thanks
You will soon hear from Chris and Nicolas, 2 Argentinean friends who are very knowledgeable on automobiles in Argentina. From my own experience, you cannot miss Juan Manuel Fangio Museum in Balcarce, 200 miles south of Buenos Aires. You will find several old F1 cars from the 50s, which he drove, and others as well. The other one is Automovil Club Argentino, in Buenos Aires, and Museo del Transporte in Cordoba (400 miles from BA). There is one dealership in Buenos Aires, Gruppo Modena, which I believe they are the sole Ferrari dealer in the country. Modena has a restaurant/cafe in the heart of Buenos Aires, "Confiteria Modena", with a SF merchandise and apparel boutique at very low prices. Ocassionally a SF car is on display next to the bar. Good luck, and make sure yo get properly briefed on personal safety before heading down there. Chris, Nico, your throttles, gentlemen. Eddie
Wow, thank you so much for your reply !! Let me ask you something, do you or anyone here got the adress to the SF dealership and the cafe/restaurant? I´ll sure go there !! Thank you again
Avenida Figueroa Alcorta 2270. Recoleta. Telephone 4809 0122 5 minutes from Retiro main train station. or
Thank you, thank you so much !! Do they have the California on display already ?? Any pics of the dealer? Thanks
No, my friend. No California on display there. In Argentina all new Ferraris are purchased on a special order. No showrooms with SF cars on display like in the US, or in your country.
UOMO360F1 has been very clear! Also, you have the calendar with the main events for classic cars here: http://www.automovilsport.com/2009/calendario.html Enjoy your stay! Regards. Cris.-
