Looks more like a fender-bender. I like how the driver is wearing a nomex racing suit and the passenger is wearing shorts.

Here's a McLaren F1 almost hitting the wall at that very same event one year prior. Had the F1 actually hit the wall you could buy a couple Ariel Atom's for the cost of the repairs. ;)

wow how about letting those front wheels spin before you try to turn and plow right into the barrier.

Looks like a fun little car though.

Looks like a dumb track set-up, way to narrow to get up to speed.

    Poor Atom!

I have been on a drive with a supercharged-Cobalt engined Atom and it is quite an awesome little beastie.

The thought of that F1 hitting the wall in the same manner literally made my throat constrict! Yikes! (PS - that picture really does a good job of showing how small the McLaren F1 really is.)

    Cheers

Typical front end washout on an inexperienced driver. He may have a nomex suit but that does not make him a good driver. Too bad for the car. If he had taken the correct line and went in for a tighter apex he would have had no problem. From the inboard camera you could see that he was not setting up for the corner at all. On the brakes and attempting a turn at the same time will drive you ahead into the barrier. It will happen every time.........

You are right, he didn't seem all that adept but everyone has to start somewhere. Besides if you don't break your toys once in a while you just aren't having enough fun.

Anyone else notice where the passenger had his hands? It seemed he was guarding the "family jewels!" Or maybe he just had to pee? ;)
