Just curious about reactions to the Barrett-Jackson and Russo & Steele auctions in Arizona last week. Did the market completely fall apart for muscle cars? What about the few Ferraris that were on auction - anything strike anyone as particularly "well-sold" or "well-bought"?

The Arizona auctions that have the most relevance for Ferrari fans are the the RM Auction at the Biltmore Hotel and the Gooding Auction at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
Ferraris were very well represented there with some superb cars ranging from Cal Spiders to Alloy Elenas to Daytona Spyders to 275 GTB's.
The Cal Spyder at Gooding was the top priced car of all the AZ auctions, selling for $3,300,000.
BJ is the State Fair of auctions, with about as much class and relevance in the real world of rare collector vehicles. It is fun to attend for the circus atmosphere and it does attract a very wide variety of ancillary vendors but the cars themselves are just a huge used car lot full of insignificant iron. Russo & Steele do a better job with that class of merchandise, IMO but it's really BJ Lite.
If you decide to come to the AZ auctions make sure you set aside Friday for RM and Saturday for Gooding. - it's really worth it!
