Arizona mileage exempt?

    Can someone tell me if Az dmv issues a mileage exempt title if car is older than 10 yrs old like most states regardless of miles?

    They can issue it. It is not automatic like several other states in the union.

    There are several states that after 10 years you have to tell DMV to keep the mileage on or they will automatically turn it exempt. However Arizona is not one of them.

    They will happily write exempt on the title if you like and it is VERY common on old cars. Exempt is often used by dealers selling classic cars so they don't get there butts thrown in court over mileage.... Its not a bad thing to do. Many times you can go in and have the mileage put back on the title and exempt removed.

    Exempt mileage on a classic car is not a big deal and does not affect value. Mileage exempt on a 1999 Ferrari 550 on the other hand... well... that is going to need some clarification and possibly some price adjustment
