I've put over 38k Km on my Euro Dino in the last 8 years and have developed a travel kit that I want to share with the community. Most have been added because of problems I've had happen to me, problems I heard about, or ones that I anticipate might happen.

Please chime in and let's make a list to help others who want to drive their Dino long distances and be prepared for what might happen. Tools are a given, but I carry these spare parts:

    1) Alternator Belt
    2) Alternator
    3) Alternator fuse
    4) Ignition switch electrical contacts (behind Neiman key cylinder)
    5) spare fuses and bulbs
    6) Throttle Cable

and they all fit in a little box that slides under the rear fender corner.
Here is a photo where I had pulled out the box when I had the broken accelerator cable failure 1000+ miles from home. It is absolutely essential to carry this part as it is specific to the Dino. I was off and running within an hour

    that's a nice application
I would not have thought to bring a throttle cable,
somehow worried about a clutch cable. I had one of those fail on me.
Though of alternator, in a box at home ready to be shipped out overnight
    with replacement ignition system
    always carry duct tape....
the only on the road failures I have had were
ignition (points and condenser) got rid of those
    Clutch cable
    burned out alternator box
roll of paper towels in case it rains and roof leaks

Cannonball Jack had a clutch cable fail during one of those important Rally's.

The problem is that they are not really cables but a "V" rod meaning they are not flexible and able to be easily stowed. The good part is that they seem to fail less than the clutch disc wears so changing it when you do a clutch job is prudent.

Have you decided where you'll be driving?

It should roll up and fit under the spare wheel, never actually carried one as a spare. Its one of only three Dino "failures" that i can recall. It will probably be easier today to leave it boxed with a friend and have it shipped overnight where ever. In fact with today's technology that's probably the way to go. Saves space for espresso flasks and marble cake!! Two items I could not travel without!!

As for the tour? Every time I think I am going to have time, the money gets spent somewhere
else. It won't be this year, in my business, that's already spoken for.
