Here's a nice way to start a Sunday morning! Ferrari of Newport Beach arranged transport with JP Logistics and Motorports. It arrived a couple days early, in great shape, on a brand new truck and trailer. The driver was also very professional. Now the really hard part-- waiting for the tag to arrive so I drive it!

Damn, that was scary! Seeing him pull up to the edge of that flimsy looking lift. Congrats.

Congratulations and may every mile be a joy. On another note; if I had a nickel for every mile I've driven a newly arrived car without tags...I'd have a a lot of nickels. Go out and enjoy the heck outa that thing :)

Congrats! Maybe you sneak it out for a “test drive” before getting the tags :)

Put tags on from your other car until the new ones arrive. I'm sure the tags and the valve stem caps will be the last items anybody will notice.

Congrats! Yeah, I'm surprised that NC doesn't have an online temp tag you can pay for and print out.

I am in NC and I am still on my 60 day temp tag in my Ford GT. The tag runs through May 6th. Did you get the car through a dealer?

Yeah, Ferrari of Newport Beach. They said they use a service to register the car for me. But I don't know if they'll send me a temp tag or what. I'm in Greensboro, by the way.

Tell me about it! He had to pull another car off first, and that one came off backwards!

Have them Fed Ex you a temp tag. I hope maybe it’s with your paperwork and they simply forget to place it one the car.

There's nothing better than seeing a new acquisition getting unloaded from a trailer. Drive it in good health. Every time you drive the 458 it's like the first time. ;)

Great news! I’m sure it wasn’t easy waiting, but it’s soooo worth it!

Now go get busy racking up some miles around the Tar Heel state!

Congratulations once again, Mike and Natalie. Enjoy in good health. Wish you both many miles of happiness behind the wheel! Wish we could go for a drive together: a grey and a white 458 side by side with that background would make for some eye candy photos!

    Kindest regards,

    Nuno.

    Hi Mike,

Congrats on getting the deal done and now having her home!!!!
I wish you many miles of enjoyment and I am sure you will be opening the garage door in the middle of the day/night just to stare at it.
Don't let anybody tell you that Silverstone is an "under the radar" color and you will go unnoticed.... simply not true.

    Drive her in good health!!

    Best wishes,
    Gene Greer

Ok all. Don’t kill me. Just took it out for a spin. Please stop laughing. It’s so....quiet. Realize I’m used to a 430 with a Capristo. Loud, raw, in your face. This feels like...his older, sophisticated brother. I’m not sold. It feels like a beauty to drive, no doubt about that...but...so tame. Can we make it a lot angrier with a Capristo?

No tag in FL = cheap ticket. Wrong tag in FL = misdemeanor and up to a year in jail. Your state may vary, but it pays to know the rules.

Write up a fake bill of sale from GA. In GA, you have 30 days to register a car AFTER you buy it...

Unplug and cap off the vacuum lines to the exhaust valves for now. Maybe an aftermarket exhaust later. I find mine to be quite loud enough in stock form, but I don't want to attract attention to the way I am usually driving.

Short answer is yes and totally agree, 458’s require pipes.
I have novitec throughout the car and it’s *loud*, on race cats. Shrieks like it was meant to. Sounds like an F1 car. My 2c:
    Stock = unacceptable
+ exhaust = how it should sound stock
    + straight pipe/race cats + exhaust = now we’re talking
    + headers + straight pipe/race cats + exhaust = loud and proper
+ straight through = deafening but glorious

Novitec sounds best IMO but pricey esp if you go inconel. Based on the exhausts I have heard, Kline and S-Line both give you 90% of the noise for a fraction of the cost. But IMO, Novitec is best, very happy with everything I’ve used from them.

Well, I drive mine every day and try not to piss off everyone around me. What do I know... Stock is plenty loud for everyone not driving the car.
