    Hey all,

It's a beautiful day in Cincinnati, definitely 308GTSi weather. So I head out this morning to find my baby's driver's door handle pulled into the "open" position. Seems as thoughh somebody wanted in last night and since the car was locked, decided to yank on the handle and so graciously broke it (or whatever cable or rod is inside the door). So now I can't open my door from the outside. Anyone have any insight about what is possibly broken inside? Is there a cable from the handle to the latch? Something worse?? I guess the door panel will be coming off today to investigate.

Secondly, occasionally the car will stall out at a light. Usually restarts right back up, happened this morning once and last night once after I got off the freeway. It's almost like there is an intermittent loss of ignition. Any notorious spots on 308 injection cars that cause this? I will say that the car does need her spring ignition service which will come shortly.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Cheers,
    Aaron

Mine does that only if I'm running air conditioning. I have to set the idle up a little higher during a/c season.

You need to change your profile! ;)

You've got the right idea. Open up the door panel and see if something is broken or just jammed. If something is bent, be very careful about trying to straighten without taking things apart, as you could snap something else with leverage. If you need a replacement, used parts are sometimes available, which will save a bundle over new parts. The door mechanism is pretty straightforward, so you should not have much trouble figuring it out.

    Fixed! (the door)

Took the panel off and found the cable that attaches to the outside handle had been pulled loose out of it's clamping "screw". Loosened the screw, pulled the cable taut and retightened, and viola! Functioning door handle once again.

Still no ideas about the very intermittent stall, although today after I washed her, she refused to start so I pushed her into the garage and pulled a plug and it was dry, so I think we've got some sort of fuel issue. I did swap the fuel pump relay with a known good one and that didn't do the trick so I have to check the pump itself and then (hopefully not) have to dig into the CIS.

    Cheers,

glad you fixed it! Btw Off topic, were you driving through Hyde park square in your car a couple of weeks ago? Is your car red? I may have passed you (or another red 308) in my 355... just curious!

    Aaron,
Check the fuse and make sure the puel pump is getting power. Don't just check that the fuse isn't blown. Use a multitiester and make sure that the contacts aren't corroded and the thing actually works.
