Opinions on Igor Babailovs' work? I have an opportunity to purchase some original pieces that caught my eye and want to learn more before I shell out $15k-$20k for a canvas. Any opinions in general are appreciated:)

Are you having your portait painted? Other wise save your money there are a lot better artists out there that will give you better returns.

If you like the style, go ahead. It's always good to get things you love.

If it is about appreciation, don't bother. Just because it's $20k is no guarantee that it's good. Today, price has nothing to do with quality. The accepted price point for quality has dramatically shifted upward.

looks like crap to me. Take it to sotheby's to sell it and they will say, Who? if you want to keep your money, you are gonna have to stay with the known winners. get yourself a nice Miro or Picasso print.

I think his landscapes are better than his portraits.

No, he's not Miro or Picasso, but as a portrait artist, he's well known. I'm sure if you were to
do a Google search, you would find an impressive body of work. I believe he has pieces in the
permanent collections of both the White House and the Vatican. If you can afford it, go for it!
