This can be reachable for me... sounds very intruiging...

is the Art specifically Automotive Art or any type of art? The website doesnt specify but from the Art-sponsor webpage it seems to be non-automotive.

    thx

    Hi, thanks for your interest!

The art will be any kind of art; painting and drawing, photography, manipulated photography, digital art, sculpture, jewelry, etc, and need not be automotive based.

Are you interested in displaying and selling art, or displaying a vehicle?
Coming from that distance, I'd want to take care of you personally, so even if you're wanting to display art, let me know and I'll handle the arrangements with you.

    Thanks again!

Yup, there's a form on this page: http://www.artandautomotiveclassic.com/Entry.htm that we need filled out and sent in with a pic (or 2) of your car and the $5 jury fee.

I'll PM you with my home address, but we'll have a PO Box in a week or 2.

We haven't set the cutoff date yet, but we'll likely be cutting off requests for Invitation sometime in late May or early June, so we can get Invitations back, and give people who are invited time to send in the other $45.

I'm tring to get the form setup as an email form, with online credit card ability, but it's probably a month or so off.

You will be the first F355 submitted (cool!), and I am giving preference to early registrants, as well as distance travellers. ;)

    The website got updated this evening with our location;

    Junction City Shopping Center
    5901 N Prospect Rd.
(Intersection of N. Prospect and N. Knoxville)
    Peoria, Illinois

The site has a new owner and is being completely revamped this Spring; we'll be on a brand new fresh lot with several very nice shops around us.

Now that we have the location set, we can finalize the schedule details, and then we'll be ready to really hit this hard.

We are considering a discount for people who refer others to the show as well, so let me know if you think that's a good idea, and if you know anyone you could refer.

We are also seriously seeking true "exotics"...If you know anyone with a seriously rare car, please forward our information to them...We're looking hard for the upper eschelon cars.

Also, some highline sponsors and vendors are already on tap, but we're always open to more, as long as we have space.

    Thanks!

Thanks to those of you who've already sent in your registrations!
As the season gears up, we are looking to fill up as early as possible, so if anyone else is interested, we do have openings right now.

Just print and complete this form,

    http://www.artandautomotiveclassic.com/images/InvitationRequest-01.jpg

And mail it in with a couple photos and the $5 Jury Fee to:

    Art and Automotive Classic
    c/o Michael Erdmier
    PO Box 506
    Morton, IL 61550

I'm looking forward to a terrific Ferrari showing!

    Thanks!

The show is Saturday, August 5th.

We're having a get-together Friday from noon until whenever for those who want to hang out and get to know the other car owners better, and check out the other cars that are going to be in the show. Food and drink will be available, and we're working on getting the food for free. :)

The show Saturday is from 9am-4pm, and then we're having an awards presentation after that, then there is going to be more time to hang out, for those interested.

Sunday we're having a cruise from noon - 5pm with several restaurants as stopping points, and many of them will have drink specials and again we're working on making at least some fo the food free.

These are all only open to show participants, so it's a chance for the owners of these cars to get to know one another better.

We have blocked out several king-size rooms at the Stoney Creek Inn in E. Peoria at a discount rate for people wanting to come for more than just the Saturday show.

Children 17 and under a free there as well, when accompanied by a paying adult.

The hotel will also likely be the site for the Friday night and Saturday night GTGs, and may be the meeting point for the Cruise as well. Some details are still being finalized.

All this information is being added to the website, and to the package you'll receive when you send in your registration.

There will be lots of freebies and discounts for you guys throughout the weekend, and more than enough time to really appreciate all the cars there, unlike some shows where you're too busy guarding your car during the show.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
We want to make this the most enjoyable and easiest show you've been to, and are always open to suggestions, etc.

    Thanks for your interest!

Am I seeing this correctly that there is a $50 charge to "show" your own car at this event??

That's essentially correct, thanks for asking.

The $50 is not simply to be able to show you car, but gets you a lot of extras, such as a discount at the Stoney Creek Inn on the King size rooms we have blocked out (while they last), some of the food and drink at the event, a massive package entrants will receive at check-in including several items you won't get at any other event, entry to the cruise (similar to events some organizers charge $100s for all by itself), as well as the DJ (who has a huge following of his own), obviously trophies if you win, etc, etc.

There are several details we're still confirming, but at this point all entrants can expect at least 1 meal included, lots of free food Friday and Sunday for the pre-registration bash and post-cruise bash, drink specials for the same, it looks like we'll be able to provide a bottle of champaigne at entry, and a lot more.

We've been attending other shows for many years, and have gone to great lengths to ensure this will be the best event you will ever attend. There simply is nothing else like it, at least that we've ever heard of or seen in the midwest. I understand most shows charge less, and some are even free, but this isn't your basic "cruise in, show up and show your car" event; all entries are being personally hand-selected in advance, and in fact only cars that receive an invitation will be able to participate. The perimiter of the show will also be guarded, and individual cars requiring it can also be guarded and/or roped off.

Honestly, if any if the Invitees attends this event and feels they didn't get their money's worth, I would be very interested in hearing about it. If there's a legitimate concern, I would be happy to refund at least 1/2, if not all, of their entry fees. I honestly doubt we'll have any such problems. This simply isn't your average car show.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you'd like more details or if there's any specific questions you may have.

    UPDATE:

We've reduced the entry to $25 for the entire weekend!

The show is to benefit the Illinois Valley Mental Health Association (Suicide Prevention, etc) the same group who do "Whitney's Walk" each year.

Check the website for more info: www.ArtAndAutomotiveClassic.com

I would love to have a good Ferrari showing here, so please register, for those who've not already done so.

Can't wait to see you there!

    Thanks!

    What an awesome weekend!

We ended up with 55 cars for our Friday night pre-registration cruise-in and 63 competing in the show on Saturday, with 75 cars on the ground! Several thousand spectators, many art booths, a few vendors, a terrific DJ and incredible live blues/Classic Rock helped make the first year a major success!

We ended up with a terrific mix of cars; classics and hot rods (of course), several classic british sports cars, a twin-turbo Pantera, a Fiat Dino roadster, an MG Magnette, the 7-time winning 100-point Jaguar XKE V12 Roadster, even a couple low-riders, lol!

It was an eclectic group, just as hoped and planned.

We were a little light on exotics, with a "Final Edition" Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo (People's Choice winner) being the only showing, but had a few modern supercars, including a C6 Z06 and a supercharged (and chromed) C5 Z06, which took best of show!

For next year, we are considering featuring one of our Italian marques for the show and offering discounts and other benefits to those cars. It may be a coin-toss to see if the Prancing Horse or the Raging Bull get the nod, but I am hoping to see what interest there would be in advance by both camps to help decide.

If you own a Ferrari or Lamborghini (or several, or both) and would be interested in being part of a Featured Marque for the show, please post here and let me know what car(s) you'd be interested in displaying at the show.

We will again be the first full weekend in August in Central Illinois, though the actual venue will likely change. We were almost too big for our location even this first year!

We will also again be benefiting a deserving local charity, and the charity has yet to be chosen. We are considering Children's Miracle Network, St. Jude's and the Make A Wish Foundation, among others.

We are also looking for sponsors and vendors for 2007, if you're interested please email me at [email protected].

Thanks, I look forward to your replies!
