With things are slow as they have been I was wondering what the fellow artists here are doing to stay motivated. Maybe we could all rally together and fire each other up.

What are all of you doing to stay positive? How are you marketing yourselves to keep work coming in? It seems that things here in south FL have slowed to next to nothing. I'm really looking forward to Cavallino but I need to think outside the box to keeping the ball rolling.

In the meantime I'm just cranking away getting ready for the Classic in January.

Staying motivated? Well keep looking at other people's work, it will help a lot, and move you forward.

Getting a rep to do all the soliciting for you is key. Marketing yourself is like representing yourself in court, you have a fool for a client. For me, my rep busts his butt when I want to shoot.

You are 100% right TestShoot. I look at as much work as possible. I just wish I was in a more creative environment surrounded by other artists. It always pushes you farther when you in a creative atmosphere with other artists to feed off of. I still miss the creative energy from school!

I suppose i need your rep. I'm going to focus on expanding the portfolio more before I try to find an art rep. I made the terrible mistake thru the years of immediately selling many of my originals and corporate pieces without getting high-quality images for prosperity.

    Thanks for the help.

Work is a little slow, but I just go out and talk to everyone who will listen. I do alot of photo shoots which adds to the portfolio, leads to people buying the prints, others buying the prints, and even some magazine publishings. I think the key is just going out and showing your work as much as you possibly can.
