Artists, where do you get your media??

OK, I don't care so much about paint - can source that pretty easily at a decent price.

Aluminum plate? I've seen some awesome works of Al plate at an inch or more thick. When I've tried to purchase Al plate, the prices have been INSANE.

How about sheet copper? My Dad had a roll (maybe 100' by 12") of sheet copper that was thick enough to be reasonably rigid, but thin enough that you could readily impress it with wooden tools.

Let's just say I would like to do some sculpture, that is possibly durable enough to survive the elements, but have a limited budget.

Open to any thoughts or ideas!
