last weekend a bunch of us got together to do a lap of that little island at the bottom of Australia called Tasmania. it has amazing scenery and awesome windy roads.

participants were: Ferrari 355 Challenge, Lamborghini Gallardo SE, Honda NSX, Porsche 997 GT3, BMW M5, BMW 550, Subaru WRX, Corvette, Ford Falcon XR8, Jaguar E-Type, and we were joined along the way by an Audi RS4 or something.

these are links to just the individual travelog pics posts in order:

Aside from the great cars and beautifyl photos, I was also impressed with the roads on Tassie. Made for driving.

most of these boys have had many great driving adventures, but within an hour of the first day it was unanimous that this was the best driving holiday they'd ever had.

I can honestly say I've never seen a right hand drive Corvette before. Are Vette's rare down under?

quite. there are a fair few 80's 'vettes getting about now, you can pick them up for about $25-30k (a 308GT4 is about $50k), but modern 'vettes are very rare, you see a C5+ maybe a few times a year.

it's only through online forums like that that over the last few years many of us down here have come to realise they're really not anything more worthy of praise than our domestic Commodore/Monaro (Pontiac GTO), which is a joke of a car.
