    People,

Have 2 full days there, and heard one should "do" the Southern park one day, then the Northern part of the park. I like moderate scenic hikes- with no crowds. Gonna go there early July.

Areas to stay away from that are over advertised/tourist trap type? Best places to enjoy the views with no distractions?

    Thanks, people.

Don't leave food in your car, or worse, in your tent overnight. If you are staying in a lodge, forget about the tent part.

Don't rely too much on that bear spray. Some of the little town just outside the park are nice, West Yellowstone for example. Neat little shops and what not if you like that kind of thing. I haven't been up there for a few years but I don't think there is much that is realy touristy or tourist traps so to speak. Of course you have the popular places like Old Faithful but if you're going you will want to see those places.

Don't be the guy that gets too close to a Bison because you think it's like a cow and will run away from you. If you have time and want to get out of the park Jackson Hole, WY and Island Park, ID are great stops. In Island Park, stop by The Pines lodge for dinner they have fantastic baby back ribs, they also rent out cabins that are pretty nice. I may be in Island Park over the 4th of July if you're in the area let me know would be cool to meet a fellow F-chat member.

There are also some things to do/see in Island Park that are more off the beaten path. Horse back rides with dutch oven dinner and a wild west or rodeo show is always a favorite of ours but I can't seem to remember the name of the ranch....... Jeremy's Ranch maybe?
