I need assistance trying to identify some lose wires I discovered in my engine bay. I have a 1983 US spec Mondial that I have been trying to resolve a lingering cold start/cold idle problem with. Over the weekend I removed the warm up regulator to clean and inspect and discovered some lose wires in the engine bay around the area of the thermostat housing and where the warm up regulator mounts. They are hanging lose, not connected with no other obvious wires in the area they should connect to. There is one set of two wires with spade connectors one is a black/blue wire the other a red/orange wire. There is also another single wire with a large white connector, it is wrapped so and I could not identify the color of that wire. Any help identifying what these wires should connect to and if they may be part of my cold start problem is appreciated . Image Unavailable, Please Login

The CR and LN wires are used to run a pneumatic electrovalve for either the air injection system diverter valve and/or the auxiliary cold start air valve (not having either of these should prevent you from having a reasonable cold idle if you have a working AAV and working WUR).

Does your cold-running warning light illuminate during cold running?

Yes, the cold running warning light does illuminate. Once the light goes out the car will begin to idle more smoothly but still a little rough, once fully warmed up the car idles fine. I did remove and test the AAV in the freezer previously and it does appear to open/close with temp changes.

I was also able to pull back the wrapping on the single wire with the large white connector and it appears to be black/green. Any ideas what that would connect to?

Most likely the AC Compressor EM Clutch -- has your AC compressor been removed or is dysfunctional?

Thanks for your help with identifying these. Yes, the AC compressor had been removed by the previous owner. It sounds like all of the stray wires are for removed components that aren't impacting any engine functions and my cold running issues are probably WUR related.

I've seen a few different shops online that rebuild and/or sell rebuilt WUR's. Any vendor recommendations for rebuilt WUR's?
