Recently had my 328GTS perform a bowel leakdown test on me while going around a tight corner when I missed the throttle blip on a braking/cornering downshift.

Passed the leakdown (barely). Recovered the spin whilst remaining "in bounds" as well (barely). Have narrowly proven to myself that I can multi-task between oscillating countersteering and sphincter control.

Any experiences out there with F-Models that are Depends compulsory?

Your 1st mistake was trying to downshift while cornering. All shifting needs to be finished before entering a corner. 2nd, I hope you didn't do this on a public road where one should always be in control at all times. Regarding 328 handling with which I have a lot of track experience, you have to be pretty bad out of shape to spin. The car is easily balanced with throttle modualtion and oversteer can be easily gathered in with smooth and subtle steering or throttle corrections.

LOL....I have a 348 TS. Second day I owned it I took it to my favorite section of twisty's. Throttle blipped from 3rd to 2nd and naioled the throttle into a 20-30 MPH corner at 40-50mph. The back end came out and I kept in nailed. Best handling car I have ever driven. Powerslide through the whole corner. I fear that my confidence in my car may now come and bite me in the ass someday. Conclusion: 348..drivers car, easy to recover...so far...

    My 2 cents,

Just curious. What were the road conditions, rough radius of the curve, your speed and tire type/age? I drive a Mondialt (rarely at speed) and have not experienced a real "side slip" yet but I'm wondering where it got loose on you.

    p.s. Congrats on the recovery

Thought it might have been time for new rear tires. Now I'm sure.

....You're right about the full spin. I probably wasn't close to that....But, I guess my point was that it sure felt like it REALLY wanted to go all the way.

My Fcar must carry the XY gene.

Early morning 45 degrees maybe slightly dewy or damp but mainly dry .Mountain road, asphalt, Steep uphill, see through left hander feeding into a right hander. Speed sign was marked at 25mph. I went in hot in 3rd gear, throttle blipped and downshifted to second and entered at approx 40mph I'd say 4,000 rpm. When the backend drifted a little, I instintively gave her more throttle, (luckily) performing the perfect power slide. Which set me up perfect for the right hander...Pure luck I'm sure. I am 35 and have had plenty fast cars but my past is heavily into motorcycle road racing. When the back tire gives on the bike the throttle is your best friend.
A close buddy was with me.....you know the type, "faster, faster". Guess I got a little excited. I then thought " What the hell am I doing in my brand new F-Car!!!!!" I can tell you it sure was fun!!!

I have alot of 'moments' in alot of my Fcars....fortunately most of them have been at the track.

Of all the Fcars that I have had the F40 and the 348 are by far the best cars for rewarding skillful driving. They are great at being catchable, pitchable and overall just good fun (but sometimes a pucker factor) at the limit. Those limits on both of those cars are virtually impossible to achieve on public roads unless you are doing something incredibly dumb. But there is nothing quite like a powerslide with opposite lock leading into a 4 wheel drift in either one of these cars.
