Aston Martin DBS Unveiled

So will this be a production car or only a one off for the movie?

 

I was just in the process of searching for the 'New Aston' thread to make sure I wasn't reposting. You beat me by 1 minute.

I like it, especially the interior.

According to this month's CAR magazine most of the panels are now carbon fibre, the front and rear track are wider and the engine will be be boosted to 530ish bhp. Its effectively the Vanquish replacement. UK price in the region of £170,000 or more or less the same money as the 599. I know which I would rather have and it comes from Maranello.

 

Sadly, they took a beautiful shape and put too many freaking vents and intakes on it - just like the 599!

That shift knob, too, is that supposed to be from Flash Gordon's MY3045 Corvette? Wrong franchise!

 

The interior looks inviting but the exterior. That front bumper looks hideous. Way too heavy-handed. None of the lines and forms line up with anything else. I can't see from these angles but does that corner form serve a function? I can't see if it let's air in for brake cooling. If not, then it's really ugly. Even if it does let air in, it looks like an after thought after one too many shots. It looks riced to me. Unfortunate. Change the bumper and I think it's not bad.

 

What movie? I think the front is too busy with all those dents (I can't remember the real word) and lines, it should be more smooth. Other than that it looks amazing, and I love the interior.

No it's not the Vanquish replacement.

It is in essence a DB(9)S(port) version. Don't know how many will be made, I believe it is a limited edition though, as hopefully will be the Rapide.

Aston Martin....I love you. A classy, sexy car for a classy gent (James Bond).

 

too many vents ruin the styling of the car...anyway, as sports cars, the aston martins are dogs compared to ferraris, lambos and porsches....

 

this,IMHO,is the most over-styled aston since the lagonda limo.
it's just crass and most definitely lacks the DB9's class.
the vanquish looks plenty aggressive;this is something HOTWHEELS might release.
summary:
ASTON DB9 by MUGEN/NISMO/SPOON/etc....!

p.s-the original 1967/68 DBS was a supremely UNDERSTATED car.

How pathetic. It looks like a "best of" a tuning mag'.

 

I agree the body kit is bit excessive, but the new interior looks fantastic. However, one little thing i like the most over the DB9 in terms of styling is the new mirros on the door. It looks similar to the one they had on the V8 vantage and it's such a beautiful design.

so what is GOING ON with aston martin?their cars are pretty(db9,amv8,vanquish) but are almost facsimiles of each other.

take a long hard look at these 3 and what do you get?evolution.
somebody please break into gaydon/newport pagnell and confiscate their XEROX machines...or DB7 templates!

my GAWD.i'm looking at my own post above and thinking "cripes,those cars are so effin' classy and SEXY;my groin's twitching!"
this DBS is almost as weird as DANIEL CRAIG being cast as james bond!
even jullian mcmahon/clive owen/pierce brosnan/sean EFFIN' connery(circa 2006!) would be a much better choice.who's next?will smith?!?

 

I like everything but the hood. To many vents. Everything else I can live with. I wonder how Bond is going to wreck it this time.
