I read somewhere where Stroll was selling a portion of the company for $200M? investment. Stroll is not stupid - he will use other people's money till it dries up. Aston Martin as a brand has moved from bespoke small production like a Savile row suit - to Hugo Boss... but having problems with quality and value. The residual value of an AM product is horrible - almost like McLaren..... I hope I'm wrong but unless there is a tie-up with a larger mfg... I would think AM is either gone or a Chinese company in the next 5 years. ... or money laundering for Russian Oligarch.

It happens to most luxury brands after a while they lose their soul; to stay profitable, they have to produce more, and lose they appeal.
Look at Alfa Romeo, the pre-war Ferrari, they won GPs and made terrific sports car (won Le Mans too), after the war, they made trucks, and finished producing rebadged FIAT.
Sunbeam, another famous pre-war name (they won GPs, and held several Land Speed Records), which ended up being a logo on a cheap little Chrysler made in England, before vanishing.
Talbot, a sportscar manufacturer, still famous up to the early 50s, which became a subsiduary to Peugeot before falling into oblivion.
The same will happen to most famous brand names, and electrification will speed up that process, IMO.

    Unfortunately you are right.
In the medium term I fear Ferrari won’t be Ferrari anymore because of the electrification.
A Ferrari without combustion engine is a nonsense.

We'll see. They said the same thing about a Ferrari without 12 cylinders. A Ferrari without the engine in front. A Ferrari without a stick shift.

I'm sure the badge will be around, but the soul gone. its like Gucci for me. Loved the shoes and belts, etc... but today the crap that is produced ??? but there are people who like it. so I thin it will be the same for Ferrari.

Well, the real answer is I don't know. I'm 54 - closer to the end than the beginning, so for me Childhood was dreams of owning a Ferrari and seeing the cars race in person... I have no idea what an electric car will hold for a kid of 8-10 years old today? that is what it depends on. if there are still people who dream of owning Ferrari's and following history- the brand will be great. if not - it will die off. All my cars have a name of a person behind it. Ferrari, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Abarth, Ford..... albeit, the families may not play as much a role in day to day... I like cars that have a personality behind them...

Well, it was the "reasonable" thing to do. After the promises of the "pink Mercedes" didn't materialize, there was no reason to stay running around in circles in the mid field.

Leaving Red Bull was his biggest mistake.

Although I don't know if he was pushed or not.

From then on, it has been a steady decline.

IMO, another driver who was lured by Ferrari 's fame only to become its victim.

Aston Martin was never going to save his career. An unhappy ending ...

    Who's the next Stroll victim??

I can see Ricci jumping in on this
I can see a rookie but thats not prestigious for Stroll Daddy
Alonso?? He would be my choice

    Easy to say that after..
Winning a fifth titles with Ferrari would have been an apotheosis.
He drove a title’s contender car in 2017-2018.
He failed because he was mentally weak.
    Period.
