I read that there is a long shot that Vettel may replace the Stroller. That would be mega: Alonso and Vettel. Please make it happen.

6 WDC titles between the 2 drivers. IF, and that's a big IF, I bet Alonso beats Seb over the course of the season IMO.

It'd push AM forward much faster. Vettel would not care to beat Alonso (IMO) and just have fun, specially if the car responds.

I was thinking one race, you went really ambitious for a whole year.

I'm not a billionare, but I do have higher ambitions than Lawrence that's for sure when it comes to picking drivers.

I'd probably ask to borrow Mick to be honest, since he's not doing much else at the moment other than practice his death stare behind Toto.

Too bad, it has been confirmed that Drugovich is going to replace the Stroller instead of Vettel.

To be fair it is possible that Vettel didn't want drive even if he was asked. Even though he did Race of Champions not too long ago, I suspect Vettel is living the family life and is probably far from F1 shape at the moment. No way he'd be able to get his neck and body ready in time.

A rational internal view from Aston-

Aston Martin not interested in hype surrounding team after Bahrain F1 test
Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack has tried to keep a lid on expectations after a strong performance by the new AMR23 in Bahrain Formula 1 pre-season testing.

While the Aston was only the seventh fastest car on aggregated headline times over the three-day test, its consistent pace and a good long run performance by Fernando Alonso caught the eye of rival teams, with many observers suggesting that Aston could lead the chase of the top three.

However, when asked if expectations have now changed Krack was keen to downplay the relevance of the strong testing form, comparing it to the disappointment the team encountered last year.

“I'm not so sure about that,” he said. “To be honest, I think it's very, very difficult on such a test to make a proper judgement. I’ll give you an example. Last year, we were P4, P4 and P10 over the three days, and we seem very similar now.

“And in the race we were out in Q1. So just to tell you how much a test like that can give you an indication of where you are.

“So I think for us, we must not lose our goals. Our goal was to make a step forward in the performance of the car, in the team. And this still remains our objective. If we manage it or not, we will see next week.”

Alonso: Aston progress "hurt" by Stroll’s absence from test
Fernando Alonso admits that the Aston Martin Formula 1 team has missed the feedback on the new AMR23 that it would usually have had from Lance Stroll.

Give Drugovich the seat for the rest of the season!!! Bet he scores more points than Stroll would have in the same car.

Really interested to see how Drugovich keeps up with Alonso at Bahrain this weekend.

No, keep Lance and groom Drugovich to be Alonso's replacement when he retires.

Drugovich has shown to be a slow learner in F2, not one who delivers straight out of the box.

If he drives Aston in Race-1 lets hope he pulls no Lance style moves and ruins someone else' race.

Maybe he is positive about this car versus what he has had the last few yrs. If he is competing for podiums I think we'll only hear good things about the team and his teammate.

Since I'm not on the payroll I take back everything nice I said about Lance last year. If Stroll Sr. wants to hire me I'll change my tune. Lance doe have nice hair, though...
