he has to tough to justify the investment in Newey, and the statement it makes in signing him, yet keeping your underperforming kid in the second seat
Oh stop. Such a horrible obsession with Lancey. Dont make me label you as unhealthy lol I dont sense any movement that way. The question now is who to replace FA. Thats a faster moving train than I think most feel it is. If he has a wasted year next year, I dont see why he would stay longer. Time is just working against him now consistently.
So Newey is a partner with AMRF1 and overlooking 3 F1 departments so that all 3 F1 departments have harmony and cohesiveness. (Something the Scuderia probably needs but wasn't willing to give Newey the reins and power to do.)
Guys dont get me wrong Adrian N is obviously an amazing guy with a huge track record, however listening to him at the launch today he seems to have some difficulty sometimes in his way of talking ,or am i imagining it ?
Very soft spoken kinda guy with alot of humility but can he build F1 cars. He's always been like that.
saying Lance is a mediocre driver is a "horrible obsession"? OK. Fred is the more interesting question, he probably has 2-3 years left in him at most. Like most F1 teams, AM has a big "driver academy" crew, none whom seem to shine. If Drugovich was the answer I think he'd be in Lance's seat by now. so realistically AM needs to completely revamp their driver lineup in the next few years to maximize the potential that Newey brings to the table
Let's put Lance aside for a moment and admire another great move by Lawrence Stroll to bring Aston to the front of the field. What he has done for the brand as a whole in the past few years including the staggering amount of investment the company has seen is nothing short of extraordinary. The guy certainly has my respect.
+1 Lawrence Stroll is looking to revamp his F1 dept with Newey overlooking over 3 key aspects or departments of an F1 car. Obviously, the Scuderia didn't want one man with this much power. (which was probably needed for Ferrari) Hence why the Ferrari brand should remain as it is since "No one is bigger than Ferrari".....so business as usual then for Ferrari F1.
Not sure I agree with this, the road car division is really not doing that well. Currently the F1 teams is far off the front of the field and its clear he wants his son to be a World Champion hence the degree of money thrown at the F1 team. "Alonso please move over and let Lance pass". It will certainly be interesting see what happens.
signing Fred Honda engines new campus signing Newey Papa Stroll has been on a roll. pardon the rhyming
I think Big Daddy Stroll has now gone way beyond simply buying his son a seat by buying him a team. At this point he's deadly serious about winning. As others have said Lance may be gone in a few years but his Dad wants to make the team world champions and he will do whatever it takes.
I was just having a bit of fun given a comment made in reference to JG Agree'd on the full driver lineup revamp. Lance needs to run the Yacht Ops Team etc lol.
For sure Lawrence Stroll is an exceptional business man. What he achieved with this team in a very short time is just mind blowing. Will he succeed in ? Most difficult step is « faire prendre la mayonnaise « as we said in French as a culinary metaphorical expression.
That was my thinking as well....Max is an Aston.....but it should be Alonso and Max...otherwise, if Stroll Jr. is still with team, then no WCC title.
