I have been pondering an AM purchase for a while now and I'd like to know if anyone has one here and can give me a few pointers on them. Also, is there a forum like this for AM cars? Thanks and Cheers! -Opie
More like they are running from the blue oval. AM was the only company in the Ford Permier Auto Group that was making money and had a plan to keep doing it. Ford needed the cash and the Boss (Bez) wanted out from Ford - he even tried to buy the company himself with a group of investors but were outbid by others.

Thanks! I'd still appreciate anyone's experiences with AMs... forging into little known territory here
I have a 2005 DB9 with 22,000 miles and I love it. It is a fantastic road car and I track it with the club at Lime Rock every year. In addition Aston is smart enough to get 27MPG on the highway out of 450 HP and 3900 Lbs.. At 74MPH it is barely turning 2000 RPM. A wonderful vehicle!!! www.AMOC.org
I have a 2004 Vanquish with upgraded (vanquish S) cylinder heads and exhaust. It has 5900 miles on it and has been 90% trouble free since I picked it up. It is powerful, a fantastic highway performer, and very comfortable for long distance drives. My car is a 2+2, which I could probably do without seeing as any person with legs couldn't fit in the back seat. The engine has one of the best notes i've ever heard at full throttle once the valve timing kicks in, and the car is totally civilized while driving slow or in traffic. The Paddle transmission shifts not quite as quickly as a ferrari, but certainly smoother and with less fuss. The only problem i've ever had with the car was the driver's side automatic window lowering system. like when the window lowers an inch when you open the door? for some reason it would lower when you opened the door, and then lower even more when you closed it again. I had the dealer fix it under warranty and it's been fine since. My only real complaint about Aston Martin, which is consistent with all exotics, would be the service. Last year, I took the car in for regular 5k mile service and was handed a bill for over $5,000, for an oil change, a new battery, and a set of rear tires. I still can't figure out how I was charged $600 for a battery. Besides that, I love the car. It's handsome, fast, comfortable, and understated in a very elegant way. I'd definitely buy another Aston, but I'll be hanging on to this one for a while.
Thanks for the personal review. <thinking aloud> I am considering a DB9 or a V8 Vantage in about a year or so. I am not particularly fond of rag top convertibles so the Volante is out - that means I'll probably keep my SLK55 as a roadster/daily driver. </ thinking aloud>
