The (early) CX instrument panel looks like this (picture found at Paul Robinson's web page) - and is as weird as the Lagonda's, but actually works Image Unavailable, Please Login
My dad owned a 1972 Citroën SM back in the mid-1970's. It was metallic beige in color with a dark reddish-brown leather interior. I remember it being a great car (of course, back then, it was in relatively new condition).
Their prices may be high, but they also have a lot of AM experience and are well regarded in the AM community. Galpin has one in their L.A. collection that is stunning. I believe that the factory has upgrades available for the dash if the CRT displays go batty.
They have an '83 Vantage in blu Scuro which is just magnificent http://www.autosportdesigns.com/Sales/Salesphotos.aspx?ID=2104

Here's another one I ran across last night. Looks really nice. http://www.hymanltd.com/search/details.asp?stockno=4623&recordCount=0
Just saw a beautiful 83 Lagonda being serviced at New Tickford St Service in San Diego when I was having my DBS serviced. The owner happened to be there and had a nice chat. He said the car was an electrical nightmare and had to have the touch display and wiring all replaced. Motor was rebuilt as well. I forgot about this thread, else I would have posted this one here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/british/397678-87-aston-martin-lagonda-copart-normal-wear.html.
This is what you get when people speak without knowing anything. Both of my Lagondas, both 1985's were perfectly reliable. The electronic dash had NOTHING to do with the motor. There was no engine control computer. Every idiot keeps talking about "breaking down", "digital failure". WTF? You either have a working dash readout or you dont, but thats the extent of the electronics involvement in the car. I owned the Star Trek dash and had it working flawlessly, perfect. I now own the only CRT dash Lagonda in the world that has ALL its original components and works 100%. That is verified by Aston Martin. They do not know of another Lagonda that doesn't have one electronic flaw. Why? Because I actually bothered, unlike the idiots who ruin the cars value by converting to analog gauges, to seek out the one man on earth who knows how to repair the dash. I sent my dash to England, gave him $10k and 6 months later it was done. The Star Trek dash was made between 1979 and 1984 with four 1985's also, of which I owned one. These had the single spoke wheel. 325 cars were built like this. The two spoke wheel with CRT dash and carburetors saw 100 cars built. CRT and injection saw 30 cars built. Wedge body & VF dash saw about 25 cars built. The remainder were the later body style which nobody liked between 1988-89. If you're buying a Lagonda, i can put you in touch with the man who will get your dash working as reliably as a new car. If you're in the NYC area I can also point you to the right mechanic who has a working relationship with the dashboard technician in England. aside from all of this, I've owned two for one good reason. I have a Ferrari and 2 Lambo's... NOTHING looks cooler than a Lagonda. Easily gets more attention and admiration than my Diablo or Countach. One of the greatest designs of all time. The Rapide and all other exotics today are a joke. Might as well be looking at a KIA. Great styles died with the 1980's
Does anyone have a Lagonda in the Midwest, particularly Michigan? I would like to get some shots of the headlights popping up for a video I'm doing. Thanks! Chris
If anyone is looking for a red Lagona, this one seems reasonably priced. I have no affiliation with the seller or knowledge of the car. Price $25,780. Aston Martin Lagonda - Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley, Lotus of Denver - Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley, Lotus of Denver
I should have posted this here before it ended, but this one looks in extraordinarily good condition and well sorted.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234254593610?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l9372
