been away awhile, admiring the finer points in life...and noticing some seriously sick rides! i noticed that some japanese gentleman recently had his f575 maranello converted by zagato into,IMHO;a gorgeous beast...but doesn't it look rather FAMILIAR? aston martins;surely one of the most desirable marques on earth;have always had some FANTASTIC specials built by zagato.the unbelievably stunning DB4GT zagato was surely the sexiest english car til the XK-E came along. in the 80's,zagato once again worked it's magic on the peculiarly styled V8 VANTAGE ZAGATO. most recently,we had the stunning DB7 GTZ (2002/'03) ,the DB7 AR-1(2003/'04)and the vanquish roadster(2004). what i love about these cars are not only are they stunning;but highly respected by aston fans as well.this never seems to be the case with modern exotics;are there any other respected bespoke makes of any other marque within the last 20years? To say that the DB7 GTZ and AR-1 are 'highly respected' by most Aston enthusiasts is a bit......enthusiastic. Very few of the comments I've heard or read have been positive. Most Astonites think the 'gawping fish' grille is too large and the rear is horrible. To your point, though - I'm sure there are many other bespoke models out there. For any varieties of Aston Martin, I would recommend you check out Tim Cottingham's definitive site on the marque, www.astonmartins.com. Best, Neil
At the Aston dealership in Geneva I saw two (out of 99) DB7 Zagato coupes getting serviced at the same time.
The rear is kind of ugly and the grill is large for my tastes. Astons have always been a favourite brand of mine though. Could you daily drive a DB9 or Vanquish?
a DB9 could definitely be daily driven like any other GT coupe (6 series etc) its just 2 ford duratec V6s engine wise!
