Asus revs its Lamborghini Eee PC VX6 notebook

HARDWARE MAKER Asus has rolled a fresh notebook out of the garage, the Eee PC VX6.

The 12.1-inch notebook shown off in a video was co-designed by petrol guzzling experts at Lamborghini and inspired by the Murcielago LP640 Roadster.

If that is not enough bragging for you, the notebook also has the Intel Atom D525 processor, Nvidia Ion 2 GPU and Optimus technology for graphics, audio courtesy of Bang & Olufsen's Icepower, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 3.0 for supercar speedy data transfer and Express Gate for fast, custom bootup.

Asus said that this adds up to a desirable combination of style and performance, or an ultra-portable notebook that costs £499.
Asus said that it will "Add a touch of style to your travel from car to computer" and "epitomises the magnificence and power of the automotive star through a combination of sleek lines, an elegant glossy exterior in black or white and the Lamborghini badge adorning the lid".

The notebook is covetable and commands attention, apparently, and will turn heads. All this car showroom braggadocio hides some decent specifications however. The notebook offers HD 1080p video and, we are assured, very high quality sound.

The Eee PC VX6 comes with Windows 7, an Intel Atom D525 dual core 1.8GHz processor, Intel's NM10 chipset, 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive with an additional 500GB of ASUS Webstorage, a Nvidia Ion 2 GPU with 512MB of VRAM, a 12.1-inch screen and six hour battery life. µ
