If he's the best why didn't he win? Because he wasn't. This time.

The only thing he has ever been the best at is being a crybaby when he doesn't get his way and when traffic doesn't magically part for him. I love Ferrari, but not as long as this putz is driving for them.

Sorry, but no one's gonna remember the best driver voted by managers. It's the champion everyone's gonna remember...

Wow. It's not like he encouraged that people vote for him or something. This is just more evidence that anyone with a clue realizes that FA is the best driver in F1.

As evidenced by his attempt at passing Petrov in Abu Dhabi. Oh wait....

Or when he threw his rattle and the team ordered Massa to let him by instead of letting him earn it? Again, if he was the best, he would've taken the championship on the track, not a ballot.

No need to comment on this because you obviously know nothing about F1.

He damn near did take the title on the track in a far inferior chassis to Red Bull.

+1 don't waste your time, no matter what Alonso does, which is a hell of a lot more of ingratiating himself to Ferrari, you will have these replys. Had Alonso or Hamilton been in the Red Bull they would have been champion far sooner than Vettel.

As far as passing at Abu Dhabi, it is the one track that makes it virtually impossible. Ferrari strategy blew it, not the driver.

this is what we have to endure for the entire offseason. the FA haters club crybabies taking every possible little moment to express their 'opinions' of how pathetic the guy is for not being able to pass that loser Petrov in the sorry @ss Renault, of how pathetic he is for 'making' the team force Massa to move over, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. of how pathetic he is for not making it happen 'on the track'...blah blah blah blah blah. he's pathetic...i mean, really, every driver on the grid could've easily driven the Ferrari with a busted gearbox on one particular day the way Fred did. I need a big fat sarcastic sticker right here.

can't you hate blinded rats see that, given the ebb and flow of a typical F1 season (for you haters, that means the give and take, ie, mistakes vs gifts, good vs bad luck, associated with any given season), he still could've won the WDC at the last moment with a 2nd/3rd class machine, were it not for a TEAM decision on pit strategy? Oh wait y'all can't see that. cuz to y'all, he obviously lost the WDC simply because he sucks for not being able to pass Petrov. yikes...

    rant over.

    1,please remove FA hate goggles,
2,brush up on the fact that the RBR cars were clearly superior to all else for most of the season.
3,return to post with some sort of clue

oi, i'm just gettin warmed up mate! there are dumb posts here now and then. but sometimes, there are DUMB posts. ie, "if he's the best why didn't he win? because he wasn't". err, seriously? even a blind man with one testicle...his right side nut...could see how ridiculously fast the RB's were all season. yet the crybaby in his Yugo (remember those?) was STILL able to come within a hair on his own testicle..his left side nut...of 'stealing' the WDC (wanted to give a nice visual there). crack out the booze and popcorn, F-chat offseason jostling is only beginning:)

I am not a personal fan of FA. But I have to respect him. To me, he was the best performing driver of the season. He was in a car that clearly wasn't as competitive as the ones in the front - especially at certain points in the season.

As a race driver myself, I have won races against drivers that were more complete professionals, but their team didn't make the right decisions, and their car wasn't prepped as well. Didn't mean I was better. Same applies here.

Its the car that wins championships.
    The driver is just that.
Of them he was the best complete package and I agree.
And I dont even like the guy.
I rank Hammy #2 (or #1 in terms of raw speed)

It'll be interesting to see how much Fred-love is left on the board when he (invariably) involves Ferrari in some kind of scandal.

I´m 22 and i´m pretty much blown away of some of the comments here.

Are some of you three years old? are some of you just hating because of the fun?

Can someone please tell me what Alonso has done that Senna or Schumacher hasn´t done to aggravate you?

I don´t really think there is any logics applied in hating Alonso, i just think it comes down to pure jealousy.

Senna and Schumi were/are not doubt fierce competitors that will do whatever it takes to win. Almost.
They have the good sense not to screw the team they are on. To bite the hand that feeds them.
Alonso carries no such baggage. He has no honor.

+1 they really need to do something to that track at Yas Marina, as the whole race was pretty much pass less.
