Nothing funnier than someone trying to correct/put down someone else's mistake by making the same (or worse) mistake.

No need for a comma in your sentence and it is "grammar", not grammer.

    Cheers.

That was my point dingdong. Look at the original post and tell me what "nonone's" means, if you're so smart?

Ok SV, you got me, I actually booboo'd twice. But you didn't even pick up the second mistake did you? You then made your second mistake by mispelling a word. Which you then compounded by not understanding what Tesseract was saying you made YOUR mistake on. So, my english is okay, I realized what my mistake was. Your reading comprehension seems to be a little off as is your spelling. But it's okay, you're still better than the guy who's selling (I can't believe anyone will take him seriously) that Enzo. Ohh I forgot...smiley faces for all!!!

Apparently, you haven't realized all your mistakes.

    I counted three of them.

    1. nonone's
    2. a needed comma behind hopefully
    3. last sentence is incomplete

Again, you shouldn't nitpick about other peoples spelling, grammar, syntax, etc., when you make those same mistakes yourself. Which is my point all along. Which you and your buddy Tessact both missed. So, your reading comprehension needs a lot of work, too.

At least the other guy can afford an Enzo. Can you afford English lessons?

The new members that bid on the car do raise a flag. AND

You'd think selling a car such as an Enzo, you would ATLEAST have real pictures of the car. Take the current bid, 820,100.00 and subtract the cost of a digital camera, now I'm thinking...

not too bad of an investment. Eh?

At least he is into music (Freak on a Leash = KoRn, and Chimaira in his emailadres), but it's the type of music an outcast teenager listens to. Not the type of person you'd expect to own an Enzo. Other than 1:18.

I apologize in advance for any spellingmistakes.

My point was made. And certainly so was yours.
By the way, that means that I'm not expecting to hear anymore comments on you regarding this. Thank you.

I can't help myself. Damn the Grey Goose.

Should be a comma after "point", unless you were noting your "point dindong". Or did I miss another one of your hidden messages?

I'm going to do my best at posting this short response without having to edit it in seven minutes. Start timing me.

PS - Hey new buddy, hnyc, glad that SV has made us friends. Let's get together sometime and discuss filling out profiles and posting about why Jay Leno can't get an Enzo (truth is - his last name isn't Italian sounding enough).

Since this thread has turned into “English 101”, let me add my two cents. I believe there probably is an additional error in post #1, which is the misuse of the word “hopefully”.

I say probably, because I think what hnyc meant to say was “I hope this guy spends …”. Assuming that is the case, using the word “hopefully” does not express that thought correctly, as it is an adverb modifying the verb “spends”.

Of course, hnyc could have a different meaning, namely, that the money would be spent in the hope of improving the guy’s English. In that case, the word is not incorrectly used, just awkwardly placed. “The guy should spend the money hopefully on lessons” would be an improvement.

BTW, this is a very common misusage …. and one I am guilty of quite frequently.

    :)

That auction looks kind of "iffy". The media pictures are a little suspicious.

Should there be a comma after or? You're the expert and a class act. TesserAct will now be known as Classact. Yes, a genuine class act as real as a body kit on a Fiero.

    PS, Last Edit: Check mate!

Check mate (sic) is one word.. OOOOh who said that? I could go on, but I think the point has been more than adequately understood. And even more, proved. As for you Darth. You're quite right. I'm the one who made the shadiest looking ebay listing I've seen in a while. Littered it with the worst English I've seen in a while. Then pointed it out in a forum where its attention (which was my first intent) has been given a backseat to (or is that for)....damn, you guys are making me think everything i write!!!!)) shotgun hypocrisy and the attack on who's been to English 101. (all smileys)
Tesseract. Thanks for the assist. As for Leno. He's had more than enough opportunities to own a Ferrari. After the 80s' market runup had run its course. He could've bought all but the high ticket GTOs at a fraction of what they had gone for during the 80s. I remember seeing an Automobile magazine article on him back in '89. Lamborghinis as far as you could see. Not one F-car.
Bobleb. My intent was for the former use. Its proper placement is starting to give me a headache. The statement was made to convey that, in hope, part of the proceeds of the sale would go towards English lessons (which I would think (hope, haha) results in an improvement in his writing ability)
Damn. I hope he sells that Enzo, I need to borrow some money for lessons too!!!! But thanks for pointing that out.
