At 1,10 dollar for one euro...5.500 euros is about 6.050 dollars:

FERRARI 275 GTB Masque complet AVANT no 246 365 BB Equipement Auto Loire-Atlantique - leboncoin.fr

Plus package and shipping of course, but as it is in Nantes, it is sitting in a sea port already...
(P.S: I have no affiliation with the seller whatsoever and can't vouch for the accuracy of the add; if interested, make your due diligence first...)

I had read that the new Pinin Farina shop was much more advanced than Scaglietti back then in terms of tools used. The PF coupe was built there unlike the TdF I believe.

Yes, 250 GT PF Coupe bodies by Pinin Farina and TdF by Scaglietti, apart from the 5 Zagato bodied TdFs.

The framework is a completely different method. We are talking about high-series, over 100 samples, and not 1/3 samples. The series production requires a different approach, because the goal is the standardization. The case of the 275 or the 330 is typical, especially when the supplier makes body-parts in steel. Remember that during the '60s Turin was full of small factories working on behalf of a third party. So if PF made steel or aluminium parts for the Ferrraris assembled later by Scaglietti, it doesn't mean that PF had a line of presses at Grugliasco. Nobody bought a 2 ton press to produce 600 fenders, but he gaves the job to a supplier. Bertone was the same. PF bought his own line of presses in mid-70s. In late '60s Pf had one 1.2 ton press only, which came from the ex-IPLA (Industria Produzione Lamierati per Automobili), a small company that Battista shared with his brother Giovanni until mid-50s.

Albeit a year late or so, my avatar is a 'tongue in cheek' of what is potentially found under
a lot of Bondo, and after some butcher did this repair and considered it a 'job well done'.

Before stripping said Dino, that section looked gorgeous, but I really did not care what was under. Take a look at the whole nose....

    Regards, Alberto
