hahahaha no I think MY head is warped Taz has been for years, associating with people like Blackjag and such will do that I think the BMW just got sick of being driven like a luxobarge and spat the dummy
that's what I would have done JM, I have no interest in working on daily drivers. Happy to skin my knuckles on OHOS's though, somehow much more satisfying. We got the injection reassembled on the Lola on Saturday (we were down to 3 cylinders last time we tried to run it) and it started first time and is revving crisply at any throttle position. 3 months ago I wouldn't have been game to put a spanner on such a highly stressed and expensive-to-fuick-up engine, but now I've realised it's not rocket science at all. My son took this photo at the January test day, just before the CV joint let go. Image Unavailable, Please Login
yeah, don't know what I was thinking, bloody modern rubbish really doesn't interest me you know Goober is getting a Lola as well ? can only little fellas fit in these things or can fat barstewards like me fit as well ?
He is a man of style and taste. Our other partner in the car, John P, is about 6'5" and 100-ish kg. We take the seat out and put foam on the floor and the rear bulkhead. He fits just fine. Only problem is the pedals have been set up for small feet (like mine ) and he struggles to heel&toe and probably won't be able to left foot brake. Not hard to modify the pedal box but GD and I like it just fine as it is!
Magnatech ? whatever it is called that supposedly "sticks" to the parts ....... or Vegemite as someone has said
sent them to the mechanic along with the number of my insurer It looks a lot like the one I've got ...... not that there's anything wrong with that Image Unavailable, Please Login
and I took the fire extinguisher out and emptied the radiator ... don't want any industrious person finding anything to put it out with I think BMW stands for Burn My Wheels
Thats what I use and my old 308 is a zillion times cleaner inside ..... I wonder whats happening ?? ............and guys , thats gotta be Kill Rust red oxide , vegemite would never be that colour ! ................. then again could be very small amount of coolant leaking into the oil for quite a while and has been getting burnt away , , I did see that effect once with a bike. Small amounts of coolant will only burn off IF the car is driven hard frequently. I'm too lazy to read back but I think you said the water pump had been "done" ...... was there any way the coolant could have been leaking into the crankcase back then ?
