Well, I live in Atlanta and vividly remember those dark days.

That said, it appears there may be something to his case. At the time, the Atlanta police were desperate to prosecute someone. Anyone. The public was screaming for blood.

There were something like 25 children who were murdered and/or vanished. Wayne Williams was convicted of only a few. He was "linked" to some others.... but how was never really shown. The other cases were not investigated further after he was jailed.

It seems some of the evidence and time lines the prosecution used just do not hold water. Remember, some of those who have agreed that his case needs to be reviewed were involved in the prosecution and are in senior law enforcement today. They do not gain by this. But they feel there is enough doubt to warrant a re-opening of the case. I tend to agree. Whats wrong with looking deeper into some issues that do cast legitimate doubt on his conviction? If he was convicted on good evidence, he will be convicted again.
