no worries, i dont need to standout to much
So Jenk...I have a question and I sincerely hope you don't take this offensively. It seems like the Black series was supposed to be a very exclusive car with very limited production (300 I believe?)...however Zonder and I have spotted no less than 10 in Atlanta alone since it's release...any feedback as to why that is so?
I myself have spotted a couple in downtown....red, black, and white. Hey, if you got the money then anything is possible I guess.
Are you sure that you're thinking of the CLK63 Black Series and not the SL65 Black Series? I have never heard any quoted figures for the number of CLK63 Black Series to be produced and in a little Googling just now I couldn't come up with anything.
there was a very limited production when 1st made. i dont know the exact numbers but i believe only 250 came to the states. you dont see a lot of them due to the fact of the initial price tag(imo). not many people wanted to pay 140k for a car that looked almost like a regular clk. now that prices are down well into the low 90's, i think you'll see a few more with reality that i believe Mercedes did the best job ever with this car. it definitely doesnt drive as heavy as it weighs and will blow peoples minds once they get behind the wheel of one
There were 700 of the CLK Black Series made and 350 of them made it to North America. Link here But even with a limited number of them here, I have seen several of them. At one point not long after they came out, there were 4 of them for sale at different dealerships around town that I knew of, 3 at RBM and one at Select Luxury in Marietta. I'm sure a lot of people were disappointed to find that the prices didn't appreciate like they do with most limited production cars. Either way, it's a beautiful car and I'm sure it's nice to be able to drive a car that's comfortable and performs the way it does and not draw a huge amount of attention everywhere you go. Had a few spots today... I normally wouldn't take a picture of the 57s at Terminus because it's there almost every day but today I felt like I should since there was a GT Speed parked right behind it. The next two were a Rolls Royce Corniche on Mississippi plates and a Gallardo at Lenox. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I saw a 90's miata track car going east on Windward and jumped on 400 going north. It had a TireRack window decal (along with others) and after market wheels, and it had what I initially thought were scuderia shields. When I got a better look at the shields, the were same size shape, and colors, but the cavallino was too big and funky looking. I thought that was odd, oh and the fact that his trunk was not latched and it was bouncing up and down as he drove. LOL
Yesterday was a DB9 Today, oddly enough, after all the talk of the Black Series, I saw a silver one parked in regular parking at Phipps. It's the second silver one I've seen and I know Doug has seen a few of them too. I really like this car a lot! Also today was an Alpina B7 on Peachtree. The weather is supposed to clear up a little tomorrow so hopefully there will be some cars out and about. First car tonight was Chris in his Murcielago parked at Lenox, his wheels have a new paint theme. I really liked the last combination - it was more traditional. I added that photo as well. Second car was a black Ferrari F430 coupe at Phipps valet. This was the first time I have photographed this car. Third was a black 355 GTB at Chops. Fourth was a a black Lamborghini Gallardo roadster parked at the Intercontinental. I have also added a shot of a red Ferrari 360 spider that I observed on 1/04/09 off of Roswell road near Wieuca. Hi jenk, welcome to FerrariChat. Your car was parked behind a Ferrari so that will always get my attention first. If it was not New Years Eve when I observed the cars and if the parking lot to the restaurant was not filled to capacity I would of been in a better position to capture both vehicles. This year was my first New Year Eve celebration as a 21 year old so it was a priority to make my destination before midnight.
First car of the day was Bow Wow's Murcielago, I was behind him from Lenox Rd all the way to Peachtree and he drives like an idiot. He was going at least 70 on Peachtree in a 35 zone and was weaving through traffic as he went. Next was a DB9 at Phipps. The next two are the same as Horse-power posted up, Chris' Murcielago and a black 430 at Phipps. As I was taking pictures of Chris' car, I got to talking to another guy who was also looking at the car and it turns out that he is Chris' business partner. He said that he (Chris) has 3 different sets of rims for the car and that it has over 800 horsepower because of all the upgrades that have been done to it. He also said that he just picked up the car today from having the blue parts of the rims and brake calipers painted blue to match the car. I like these rims and think it's the best combo I've seen on his car. And West, we must have just missed each other at Lenox, I think that same bus that's behind Chris' car is in one of the pictures I took Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The last time I saw that orange Murcielago (I didn't know it was Bow Wow's at the time) was on December 2. It was headed extremely fast down Peachtree, weaving in and out of traffic. I pulled a u-turn to try and catch up for a photo, but he was driving so hard I was ultimately unable to. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that car goes the way of Jeezy's.
Long day at work, just a few cars tonight... 430 at Capital Grille, Maserati Coupe and Phantom at Terminus and a Maserati Spyder at Publix on Roswell Rd Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tonight started off with a red Ferrari 360 spider and a black BMW Z8 exiting Fados restaurant at the same time, no photos. I arrived at the same time but in the opposite direction. The third spot was a red Ferrari F430 coupe at Capital Grille - the same car as ZonderF observed. Fourth was a black F430 coupe with Tennessee tags. Parked at the same restaurant was ex Atlanta Braves star Andruw Jones with a silver Bentley GTC with the best looking body kit I have seen on this model of car. Sixth was a yellow Ferrari 360 spider at Terminus. Seventh at the same location was a silver 360 Modena. Hey Andrew , you're right......it seems as if we have been just a few steps behind each other as of lately.
I actually like Andruw's GTC...typically not a fan of body kits and the like but that turned out alright. Maybe it's the color...but good spot!
First car of the day was a dirty Vantage, the next two were an older Chevy Bel Air and a 360 at Lenox Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
About that Chevy: nice car, ridiculous wheels! I drove by Phipps yesterday afternoon (in the Honda) and the only car parked by the valet stand was a white Bentley.....
Found a lovely surprise at the Office Depot on Howell Mill. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The B7 looks pretty good in that color, somebody should show the owner how to park it though. Only two shots for today, a Rolls Royce Silver Seraph at the Ritz and a Gallardo Spyder on Peachtree Industrial. Also seen but no pictures were another H1, a DB9 and Vantage...I was a bit of a klutz with the camera today. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A red F430 was clocked by Orlando police today doing 138 mph on I-4. They couldn't catch it, and are still looking for it some 8 hours later! LOL.
That is really funny. It reminds me of this clip from the super speeders series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Yd88whKZ28&eurl=http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=super+speeders+3&www_google_domain=www.google.com&emb=0&aq=0&oq=&feature=player_embedded
Back in Atlanta, with a couple of good spots to report for today: - silver Aston-Martin Vanquish on temporary plates on Peachtree approaching Piedmont. - red Ferrari F430 leaving an office building on Peachtree over GA-400. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
