I just caught the Gatorrari cruising down Roswell road in Sandy Springs.
Guess I'll contribute a bit today: R8 on Peachtree street in front of Maggiano's: http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb56/kevinm_010/2009%20Car%20Spotting/SN855556.jpg Bentley CGT at the Westin: http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb56/kevinm_010/2009%20Car%20Spotting/SN855550.jpg R8 behind some warehouse; I saw it while travelling I-85 North: http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb56/kevinm_010/2009%20Car%20Spotting/SN855557.jpg -kevin

I had a great evening around town tonight. I am still buzzing about the Mercedes SL65 AMG Black series. Today was a great showing for new spots as well as some of our regulars. The top car tonight was a black Lamborghini Murcielago with after market wheels and Tennessee tags. Most of the shots tonight were on the road and in the dark but for me it was my moment due to hearing the engines and exhaust notes. Two shots missed were a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo on Piedmont near the Starbucks. The second was a white Audi R8 on Wieca next to Phipps. Seven Ferrari's tonight and two Lamborghini's. I did throw in a older Dodge Viper coupe that I feel looks great with the black stripe and painted in yellow. hi guys!! i'm new in this forum and i'm from spain. This summer i'll be going to Alpharetta to visit my family. Can you see exotic cars over there??
In this thread, the following have been spotted in Alpharetta: Lotus Exige Ferrari 360 Spider At one point there were 4 Carrera GTs in the service area Ferrari Testarossa Ferrari 575 Ferrari 355 Ferrari 308 Another Ferrari 308 (One is owned by Tazz99, a member here) "Several Lamborghinis" Lamborghini Diablo Nissan GT-R Porsche GT3 RS 2 Bentleys. Lamborghini Murcielago (yellow) Lamborghini Murcielago (green) Lamborghini Gallardo (black) Porsche Carrera GT And that was only half of the first page of search results. So in short, keep your eyes open, looks like a pretty good spot to me.
my cousin saw in alpharetta an orange lamborghini murcielago roadster once but i haven't asked him if he's seen any other exotic cars
If time permits, just take a trip down to Buckhead. Spend about an hour heading up and down Peachtree street, stopping for the hotspots like Lenox mall and Phipps Plaza, and the hotels. If you don't see any notable exotic, I'll eat my shoe or something. (not really) -kevin
It's actually funny because though ZonderF and I are certain that there are exotic cars in Alpharetta - including a Bugatti Veyron in neighboring Duluth and perhaps others we'd never see in Buckhead - repeated trips up there have proven almost totally without reward, something we discuss frequently. Whereas you drive around Buckhead (Atlanta's financial district and upscale shopping area) for two hours and see five or six exotic cars, Alpharetta provides no guarantees and - recently - almost certain disappointment. With that said, the Veyron was recently spotted in the area by a poster here and I've got a few spots in this post from the Alpharetta area. From this weekend: Saturday June 13: - white Aston-Martin DB9 at Hal's. - black Aston-Martin V8 Vantage at Ruth's Chris valet at Embassy Suites. - black Dodge Viper SRT-10 on Florida plates on Lenox Road near the intersection with GA-400. - gray Ferrari 360 Modena on California plates at the MARTA station on Peachtree over GA-400. - black Ferrari F430 entering Phipps Plaza. - red Ferrari F430 on wildlife (eagle) plates in general parking at Phipps Plaza. - red Ferrari F430 Spider on South Carolina plates being driven by a blonde woman on Piedmont. This was followed literally two minutes later by a different red Ferrari F430 Spider on dealer plates - also being driven by a blonde woman!! It's very rare that I see women driving these cars, let alone two of the same car within minutes! - red Ferrari Testarossa on Florida plates driving with what appeared to be a Ferrari 328 replica on Peachtree Parkway in Duluth. Later, they both appeared at a shopping center in Buckhead just off Peachtree and Piedmont. - white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder on Piedmont and Lenox Road. - yellow Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder on temporary plates on Piedmont near Lenox Road. - gray Rolls-Royce Phantom on Lenox Road at GA-400. Sunday June 14: - silver Aston-Martin V8 Vantage on Florida plates on Piedmont just south of Lindbergh. - black Audi R8 on wildlife (bird) plates on Peachtree near Piedmont. - gray Audi R8 on Peachtree just north of Lindbergh. - black Bentley Arnage at Aaliyah Island Grill on Piedmont. Until this sighting, none of the last 20 different Arnages I've seen - since March 2008 - have had Georgia license plates. - gray DeLorean DMC-12 on historic plates at Piedmont and Peachtree. - by far the highlight of the weekend, a dark blue Ford GTX1 on vanity plate GTX1 on I-75 just inside the Perimeter. Though this car comes to a lot of the area shows, I've never seen it on the road until today. Here's a shot from the side, and another from the rear. - white Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder at Brio on Peachtree. - silver Lotus Esprit 25th Anniversary on California plates on Lenox Road approaching GA-400. I normally dont post here... but coming back from a mountain drive on Saturday around 3 Pm, on 400 I saw in the north bound lane a red / black Bugatti Veyron... looked super cool... he was going about 80ish.. I think had the big spoiler up... looked pretty mean!!! anybody else see that?
It was out last weekend too - check out this post! Hopefully, one of the faithful spotters crew will see it eventually. I think some time ago someone confirmed that the owner lived near Atlanta Athletic Club in Duluth.
Saw a red F430 parked by a big bollard on a sidewalk outside some apartments in Atlantic Station today. Anyone here's?
I know it's been officially announced to the public, but here are a few shots of the new X6M in testing. Since I rarely carry my camera, I was glad to actually have it today so I could contribute to this fine collection. These were actually taken in South Carolina, but the driver was obviously going from Atlanta to the Spartanburg BMW plant. Notice the blacked out badges/lack of badges. We trailed the car for a while, averaging around 90 mph, until the local Highway Patrol decided to put an end to his fun. Still, a controversial car that I found very attractive in person. Just a few from me for today... -an absolutely horrible photo of a DB7 at Intercontinental -360 Spyder at Lenox....Dallas Austin had this car at his house during his episode of MTV Cribs, whether it's his or not is another story -355 Spyder at Peachtree and Piedmont -Elise getting off of 285 at LaVista Rd in Tucker Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is awesome! I spotted an X6 in Atlanta (December 2007) before they were put into final production. The guy was super nice and his wife had family in the Atlanta area. That would be interesting if it was the same person.
Something about the testarossa looks wrong too... http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j76/81401/cars/ferrari/testarossa-061309.jpg Besides the missing "grille" over the taillights and what looks like an aftermarket cover, the dimensions seem funny.
Great spot! I wouldn't be too surprised if if that guy goes looking for these pictures online today. 555 HP and $90k...at least it looks better than the Cayenne Turbo
The TR is real - the dimensions are correct. It certainly looks odd with the rear grille removed and the badges on the back fender rather than the front one, but I got a quick look in the interior when it was parked and it appeared to be the real deal.
I work in Alpharetta and I see exotics practically daily. They may not always be Veyron's or Murcie's, but a partial list of what I've seen in the Alpharetta/Cumming area: Several Maser QP's 355 Spider 430 Spider 430 Coupe 360's black or charcoal Gallardo Spider Countach Aston Martin Vantage V8 575 328 308 I have yet to see the Veyron that has been spotted locally here, but I used to see the Sultan of Michigan's Veyron fairly regularly. I was not really a fan of the Veyron until I had a chance to see it in person. What a fantastic automobile!
The only Enzo I've ever seen out in the wild and not at a dealer or car show was a few years back on State Bridge Rd. between Alpharetta and Duluth...the Rosso Scuderia paint was pretty impressive on a cloudy day. It had FL tags, IIRC. I've seen cars like a Maybach 62, Carrera GT, Ford GT's, new GTR and several Gallardos on 141 in the vicinity of State Bridge Rd. They're out there, you just have to keep your eyes open.
A couple from today... -female driven GT-R -DBS at Bluepointe -Z8 hardtop at the valet behind Chops -550 at Fado -DB9 Volante at Tin Lizzy's -Azure at Rumi's Kitchen on Roswell Rd Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There was an Enzo here in Atlanta for some time, and its life can be chronicled in the spotters' thread if you go back far enough. Someone spotted it being delivered, on the road, and then being carted away as it was sold in 2007, I believe. Currently as far as I know (and as far as F-chat Enzo man NNO knows) there are no Enzos in Georgia aside from the obvious mothballed one. A few cars out yesterday, mirroring ZonderF's spots: - black Aston-Martin DB9 Volante on Florida plates at Tin Lizzy's. - silver Aston-Martin DBS on wildlife (eagle) plates at Bluepointe. - black BMW Z8 in valet at Nava on West Paces and Peachtree. - black Ferrari 550 Maranello at Fado. I believe the best person to ask the question of what Ferrari model's lurk on our city streets, would be the man who services the customer cars for this region. The service manager of Ferrari of Atlanta. And even though they might not service all high line Ferrari's of the area you can bet that they no what cars live here. The Ferrari community is very small everyone knows everyone.
