I decided to go to the Porsche Club concours that was happening today at Hennessy Porsche, since it would be indoors and thus not affected by the predicted storms (which did happen). Because of the weather (and 200+ miles of mostly mountain driving yesterday!) I left the 328 in the garage and took the Honda, and surprise! When I pulled into a space in Hennessy's lot, there was a black Mondial in front of me. Unfortunately I had decided to take the small camera without checking its battery state (or bringing the spare) and it crapped out after three pics. My friend Mark, who entered his Cayman, said that there would be photos on the PCA website, which is good, because there were lots of interesting Porsches, including a Kremer 911 and a modern Targa in a wild raspberry color, with matching wheels and interior accents! So here also are the other two photos I took before the camera quit and the rain started. The Panamera's styling might be bulbous, but I tried the back seat and it has a lot more room than other "4-door coupes" like the Mercedes CLS or the Aston Martin Rapide. And I like it better than the new Cayenne, which to me is still a "truck". Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Since you're fairly new here, you wouldn't know this, but we collectively decided some time ago that most BMW M-series cars were not exotic nor rare enough to warrant inclusion here. IMO, the only BMWs from the last forty years that are "eligible" are the M1, Z1 and Z8, and of those the Z8 is the only one we are likely to see in Atlanta, however infrequently. But if you see an M-series that is particularly unique in some way, go right ahead and show us!
I sure would like to see an M1 on the road here. The only one I have seen was at the BMW museum in Munich. Where they also had a Z1. Funny how there is a new BMW commercial with a Z1 in it.
Thanks for the heads up Jim. And I will definately remember no M-Series. Is this OK? Audi RS4 Spotted Yesterday across from Buckhead Pizza. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I agree with all of this - but you should drive the new Cayenne! We just did an employee track day with it, and the race driving school instructors told us they can get the Cayenne Turbo around the track just as fast as the 911 - then they can drive it in an off-road course! It's crazy when you think about how capable that vehicle is, both on-road and off-road - and it feels more like a car than you'd think (and more like a car than the old one).
The yellow Gallardo in the video wasn't Gucci Mane's. It's DJ Quick's, both of them are customers of our Alphartetta store
I agree, I drove the first one and was thinking, great suv. and then I drove the 2011 and I was like, great car, oh wait, ITS AN SUV!! The 2011 Cayenne is one thing-BETTER. Its lighter, quicker, faster but yet still gives you SUV capabilities as you mentioned with off-roading and such.
You sure? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ha-h17NF-b4&feature=player_embedded Around 5 mins you see the full view of the car. Note that these are both very old, he may have gotten rid of it. I know for Ferraris hes got the 612 and the 458. I would'nt be surprised if the Lambo is now gone. Also, I didnt write what is on the picture lol Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was going down Roswell road today and so the most exotic machine thus far! lol Sorry. Couldn't resist Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The chance of seeing an M1 on the road is about as slim as seeing a girl in my car other than my mother
Supposedly, these things do indeed exist in the States. It's on my "one day I'd like to see" list, along with stuff like the Vector W8, Saleen S7, and Lamborghini LM002 and Reventon. Oh, and a few super Ferraris... M1s, being what they are, are probably driven once a decade.
We had a guy with his M1 at the O'Fest at Lanier Islands late-last-year and he ran it full-out in the AutoX event. The car was spectacular. (Nice to see the purpose built car being driven properly vs taken to the shopping mall..........)
When I first moved to Atlanta in 1988 I saw an M1 on the road - the first and the last time I have ever seen one driven. Incredible cars.
I went on a trip to the mountains for a friend's wedding and came back tonight to a nice treat. Highlights were the LM002, two 458's (one with white wheels and dark tinted windows now) and of course the LP570 Superleggera Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice haul! The LM002 is probably the rarest of all of these; would love to see it at an event like Italian Car Day.
Is this an M1? I saw it at 2009's Supercar Experience (formerly Palm Beach Supercar Weekend). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yesterday I watched the German GP with the Formula 1 Meetup Group at Hudson Grille in Brookhaven. One fellow surprised all of us by showing up with a white Mosler MT900s, which he claimed is the only one in Georgia. I didn't have a camera, but several other FChatters were there and I hope that one of them has a photo to post here. We gave the driver info about Caffeine & Octane and the Cheeseburger Bobby's gathering, and hopefully he will show up at one or the other. The car, BTW, reminded me a lot of a Saleen S7, though it has a Corvette drivetrain. Sounded pretty good leaving the lot!
