In a nutshell, it's done out of respect to privacy. While that highlighted thread didn't offer anything concrete in explanation, the basic theory of "If it's not my car, it's the least I can do for the actual owner" applies.

I own my own detailing business, and I actively frequent many of the online professional detailing forums. It's routine for each detailer displaying their work to try and conceal the vehicle owner's plate when they post write-ups of the detail. Again, while it may seem a bit far-fetched that someone out there is preying on plate numbers online, many high end sports car owners *could* obviously be targeted for nothing more than their wealth.

If hiding their plates online helps deter someone from prying for information through whatever outlet might feed them the info they need, then it's basically the least we can do, you know?

Anybody know who this is? The wheels looked to be 24" Chrome with red accents. The windows were very tinted, from the front the driver looked like Gucci Mane

I seem to be spotting cars in unique locations; my last post of this type was in Oxford, AL and is on the Alabama thread.

Well, I suppose that Commerce could be considered "Atlanta", even though it's halfway to Greenville, but the venue IS called the Atlanta Dragway. I took the Honda, as a bumpy grass field, with lots of dust in the air, is no place for a Ferrari. (You can see the Civic on the right side of the first photo.) But the fellow who pulled in in front of me had no qualms of bringing what I would consider an exotic!

It's a genuine C4-generation Corvette ZR1 "King of the Hill"! The only other one I can recall seeing in recent years was the one owned by the late Coach Ibrahim up in Clemson.

As far as I know, that Phantom belongs to Bryan 'Birdman' Williams.

He is the CEO of Cash Money Records and has been active in the music industry for the last twenty years. He founded an independent record label in 1991 and today he has more money than he can spend. He's responsible for launching the careers of the two biggest artists in Hip-Hop right now (Lil Wayne, Drake). I really can't see this guy living under a bridge in ten years and, right now, he's the one driving the Phantom that he paid for with his money.

There are some very misinformed people here that are a little too keen to judge.
