When I arrived home from work this evening, I was surprised to see a red Lotus Exige parked adjacent to the front of my house. One of my neighbors is a part-time mechanic who specializes in Honda CR-Xs and del Sols, so I figured that there was a connection, and indeed there was. It turns out the Exige belongs to one of his clients, who was having engine trouble and wanted him to check it out. (After all, the Exige uses a Japanese engine as well.) So for now we have two red, mid-engined, European sports cars on the block. (Note my Ferrari in my garage in the background of the second photo!) Dave I was hoping you were going to chime in after seeing your car on this thread. I will be posting that pic of your beautiful car on the GA Members Forum http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142146053-post136.html
Saw a red 360 Spider mid afternoon as I left Andretti Speedlab on Saturday. Top was up for some reason and his gas cap was open, lol. I whipped out my iPhone for the drive by as it was turning left at his light. Sounded as it should.
Back in Atlanta again this weekend after getting married yesterday. Went to eat at Gordon Biersch's Brewery earlier an saw a black 458 Spider with the license plate "TOKYO" pull into LA Fitness right there. Of course we had to go look at it. Then later that afternoon I was looking out the window and saw a red 328 from my hotel room at Embassy in Buckhead.
Congratulations, Andy! You say that so matter-of-factly. One doesn't get married every day. And that wasn't my 328 you saw, since it's staying firmly in my garage until my mechanic can diagnose a mysterious intermittent misfire.
Not totally off topic but not in this area: Mercedes SLR 772 S, flat black paint in DC this weekend, Diplomat tags.
Student from Dubai going to college up there. There's also a student at USF in California from Dubai that drives an LP640 on campus every day.
Makes sense Clay. Also saw the 50th Anniversary 599 along with about 80 other Ferrari at the Reston Spring Thaw, it was quite a turn out.
A bit off topic, since they're not exactly exotic, and not in the ATL, either, but I thought you'd like to see this anyway. While in south FL to help my dad move into a new apartment, I had an opportunity to photograph my rented car parked in between two Smarts that belong to one of his neighbors. A "Smart sandwich", I'd guess. Image Unavailable, Please Login
An interesting weekend, but unfortunately I wasn't in position to take any photos. Yesterday, while making a left turn on a green arrow, I spotted a Tesla Model S as I went by it, the first one I've seen. Not particularly distinctive in appearance, but quite significant nonetheless. This afternoon, I drove the Ferrari (roofless, of course) to Alpharetta to watch a replay of the Spanish GP with friends. On the way back, I stopped for ice cream at the Bruster's on Lower Roswell Road just west of Johnson Ferry. As I was finished up and about to hop in my car for the drive home, a red Dino 246 GTS went by (also roofless) going westbound on Lower Roswell! Anyone we know?
Been seeing Teslas more and more often lately, and I'd really like to check one out. Meanwhile it was an unusual weekend, seeing two red 458s without going anywhere near FoA. Once was tooling through the parking lot of Garden Ridge off Barrett Parkway and the driver had a big smile. The other was at a kinda dingy driving range right under spaghetti junction. Both of them looked a little out of place! Oh and I "saw" my own, back on the road for the first time in a couple months.
Apparently, a guy named Larry from Winning Automotive took this photo of a Koenigsegg Agera R as he claims was/is in Atlanta. He stated he will have more details from his facebook page here (scroll down to see the pic) https://www.facebook.com/charliedavisphoto
There were 3 Tesla Model S's at Rides to Remember today, and the most striking thing is that they have two trunks, forward and rear, with no apparent engine! (The electric motors are under the rear seat and the rear trunk, which is quite deep, and the batteries run under the entire car.) That would make for a good "candid camera" scenario! "Look, ma, no engine!"
That was me. The Agera was in Buckhead yesterday for the filming of Need For Speed. There was even a Koenigsegg representative driving it to the trailer parked at the Buckhead Presbyterian Church. I got to sit in the car and it was incredible. More photos to come on my page
so is it still here? I was sad to see Ben sell his Agera R off to God knows who for God knows what price :/
Do you know Gary Duncan with Longshadow? I was called on to take care of some of the cars for the Need for Speed production but was contacted last moment and could not fit it in. I wonder if this was one of them....
Koenigsegg Agera X Here's a good read about what happened with the car. He never took delivery because they couldn't get it to pass US certifications.
