Just curious where you found the car you bought? Cars.com?, ebay? autotrader? here? or dealer. Trying to compile a list of the most effective places to advertise high end cars.

Thanks in advance for the feedback

But I would have rather used ferrarichat ads. Better class of cars. Would have cost me less in the long run.

Mine was originally posted on e-bay, however I looked at everything from e-bay, auto trader.com, cars.com local dealers, newspapers, anywhere I could find one. Ended up being contacted by the seller about 6 weeks later and went to Texas to look at it and ended up deciding on it. I think e-bay gives people a realistic idea of what they are actually selling for and is a good place to post.

+1 in todays market hit them all. In fact list it places you might not consider like your local paper. Most people have no idea how inexpensive these cars have unfortunately become, so if you want to sell try different approach.

I found mine on Auto Trader but I looked everywhere all the time for about 6 months until I found the ONE.

In my opinion, this place is probably near the top of the list of safe bets for buying an F-car. You're almost certain that someone knows SOMETHING about the car you are looking at, and it's hard to hide a bad reputation. In fact, I only seriously considered two 348s, and both belonged to forum members. One car still belongs to it's owner, actually. I think he made a good decision! :)

That said, unless you are concerned about where the car ends up post-sale, you are looking to reach a lot of people, so I know F-chat may be a little limiting. I've had good luck with Autotrader twice, and my Porsche actually sold on ebay, but ended up going to an Autotrader contact who offered closer to the price I had in mind. Ebay fees are astronomical and avoidable, IMO.

I got my 348 on eBay after a poster here decided to sell. That way I felt that I got a better price but a well-documented car.

Ebay, I actually viewed the car before bidding as it was local. It needed work, but I got a great deal & I was looking for one that I could mod abit.

This is the same for me. Don't get me wrong... I'm very happy with my car, but I wasn't properly educated before jumping in. On one hand, I know the car FAR better than any of my past cars; but on the other, it took a good bit of time and money to get things properly corrected. If I were to do it all over again, I would just try to be more patient and wait for "the" car on FerrariAds. It might be a wee bit more, but chances are it would be much better sorted/documented/maintained etc.

Autotrader. However, I looked on Craigs List, Dupont Regristry and E-bay. I have purchased and sold cars on Autotrader - always has worked well.

Until you learn the game that' what most people do. I've seen several people here who inquired about my car then bought a bargain car. Based on the the posts I've seen from them, They all ended up in their bargain cars for more than what mine would have been. I always felt whoever ended up with mine would be someone who owned a Ferrari before.
