Haven't seen it and don't plan to. I imagine that it was kind of like the scene in The Rock where the 355 gets smashed by the trolley. That was disturbing.

First off, the 355 in the Rock was a kit car, swapped into the frame as it got crushed.

Ferrari / SPA doesn't authorize damage to movie prop cars, regardless of who buys it. AFAIK, they don't allow that to happen since the cars are works of art. Maybe they found a beat 99 360 that had previous damage, painted it up and got the go ahead from Ferrari

I don't think they have any control over the use of the car. Especially if no trademarks (shields, FERRARI nameplate) were shown distinctly.

If they want to crash a car, FNA might be disapproving, but I doubt they have legal recourse. I can't see the studio asking for permission from FNA.

Why would FNA or Ferrari SPA care about an Fcar getting smashed in a movie? And how does anyone think either of them has the authority to stop anyone who wants to destroy one?

Ah, the investors in the 360s should be happy.

One down, 16000 to go before they're worth something...

If you're into Ferrari-demolition masochism, rent/buy the horror film The Hidden, which stars a shapeshifting, near-invulnerable alien with a passion for Ferraris. What he - and the LAPD - do to a 308 in the film's opening sequence is unforgettable. Note also the alien's negotiation technique with a dealership later in the film when he fancies a Mondial. :D

It would be a disgrace to burn an original Picasso just for the shock value of it. The idea can be recreated with a recreation easily. A Ferrari truly is an artform, and however you feel it is your own choice, that doesn't make it right.

See Army of One, where countless F40s (all fakes [I hope] obviously) are completely destroyed, shot burned painted smashed etc!!

Good show though, chase seen between a Countach and F40, ending with the F40 plowing it's nose into the side of a mountain!

Well, it seems like Ferraris are these delicate works of art that people rarely drive. I guess it is comic-relief when we see one get trashed. It makes us enjoy and love them even more!
