Uhm.. maybe it's just a case of the 'mondays' but doesn't the 348 share the same sheetmetal with the 355? I always thought it was a 'plug-n-play' situation with regards to exchanging bumpers, etc (I do realize that the 355 has a wing and a different decklid).

Pretty much yes. Almost all the 355 panel will bolt directly to a 348. They are basicly the same car despite what others tell you.

i thought the 355 bonnet was different and thats the reason you cant use the rear lights off a 355

Wow, a little mod makes a hell of a difference. Those are nice.

For some reason in the first pic the taillights don't seem to match though. But maybe it's just me.

The idea that the panels on these cars are completely interchangeable is a myth.

    - The rear quarters on the 355 have a different shape at the top to accommodate the spoiler.
    - The rear tail light treatment isn't interchangeable for the same reason.

So...I suppose that the rear tail light treatment IS technically interchangeable...if you replace the quarters and the decklid, too.

The cars are not as identical as you might think.

Are you saying this mod can be done. I have seen kits advertised but they are not the challenge grill. Sorry if I am not following but if I can purchase a challenge grill that looks like that..show me where????????

The only "bolt on" kit that I know of is produced by garedcars.com. However, it is cheesy looking in my opinion. The lights face upwards instead of 45 degree angle to the ground, and it isn't a true challenge (mesh) grill. Hopefully Ryan or someone can manufacture some of these. The ones you see in the photos are "custom" jobs.

Why doesn't Ferrari make the challenge grill like they do for almost everyother car. You know I would just like to loose the chesse gratter and have the speciale look. Do you know what that would require??? Thanks

Yeah, it would require that you buy the speciale grill from a dealership. With a price that's...well...not so speciale.

This is the best 348 rear grill I have ever seen. Even the angle of the lights seems perfect. Any leads as to where these have on the manufacturer.

I think that a lot of people are overlooking that this mod will require the purchasing of all 4 355 rear tail lights as they are different to those on the 348. In addition to this I am not sure how the wiring differs so there may be some additional parts and or wire splicing to do at the back. I think that it is a nice looking mod but just want to make sure that all reasonable angles are considered.

Which cave did you happen to crawl out from recently? Or did you just figure out how to walk upright not too long ago? Try to got with the program and live in the 21st Century like the rest of us. It would appear that you are the only one here that is not too sharp, not sharp at all.

FYI: Being a Grand Dragon is no longer cool anymore, or did you not get that memo?

I'm.... hurt..... no........I'm.....offended.......no....no....I'm, I'm...awww shucks. OK I admit it. I'm a bass-ackwards country bumpkin live'n out here among the natives. All I can say is, I may be dumb, but I'm not stupid!

In case you haven't read any of Husker's posts before, he tends to be a little sarcastic. But I think your name calling is a little much. But as you can probably tell, Husker pretty muched just rolled your comments off his back. I would try to either read a lot more of his posts to 'understand the man', or post something a lot more contructive to this board. His comment was in jest to this quote

    from this thread...
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40805&page=2&pp=20&highlight=348+rear+conversion

Sorry to hijack, anyway, back onto the thread at hand...

Rylax...has there been any update on the 355 rear conversion for the 348. I really like the way the Veilside grill looks. Have you considered at all manufacturing one like it?

He can roll it whichever way he wants, he posted what he posted.

So it makes it okay to post something like he did as long as anyone of us does it in a sarcastic sort of way?? And what would read more of his previous posts do? "Oh, he is just being funny and he didn't really mean what he said, so we should all just laugh it off." Is this what you are trying to tell me? Why don't you use your humor and explain to me how funny it was when "China-men" were treated like s**t and were considered to be lower than farm animals back in the early 1900's and that they were only "imported" to this country for the simple purpose of building the railroad. While you are at it, make me laught about all the Native Americans that died during the infamous Long March, and how the "colored" people should all sit in the back of the bus.

Fact is, we are here on an open forum, and yes, we can all hide behind the First Amendment and post whatever we want. However, at the same time, we are also responsible for what we post here and we have responsibilties to our fellow forum members about what we post up here. There is a fine line to what is consider as "funny" and what is "offensive", in this case, he cross the line, no matter how you look at it.
