The second round of samples of our custom commissioned cigars arrived and I thought Id share with those of you who fancy yourselves as aficionados.

These are the churchill and robusto.

It makes me happy, I just thought I'd share. The full line will be available in finer cigar shops and other venues hopefully in March. It is going to be limited production, but when the finals come in (hopefully Jan) I can provide some samples to the finer folks here.

Yes, they are square (more rectangle). Please keep the tail number jokes to yourself, we all know cigars dont have tail numbers.

Also, a question to anyone who might be able to help. The idea had been pondered to offer a package consisting of the full line and a teke wood veneered (I dont even know if that is possible) humidor. This would obviously be in even more limited production. But if anyone knows anyone who can realize this concept, I would appreciate any help you can give so I can pass it along to the head honcho on this project.

I really like Box Pressed cigars and would love to give them a try.

Where are they made? Who rolls them? Where is the tobacco from? Wrapper?

any other info you can share?

You could put serial numbers on them like Padron does.
    Thanks.

FWIW, our vacuum cleaner is about to go on the fritz. I give it about three weeks. You think you'll have something going by then?

Gentry - you should be more careful. Your office photo at http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=134527930&postcount=14 reveals many of your secrets. For instance, I predicted the cigar business from the prototype cigar on your desk (unless that was a left over celebratory cigar after signing the jet deal in your "office")

I also predict some sort of secret wood rejuvenator product is in the works - see dark stains on desk (unless those are grease stains - wait, nah that couldn't be where your arms go all day).

What other secrets can be gleaned from your office? By the way, did you ever get the bamboo floor for the office? http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=134545145&postcount=38

Some of you guys are born and bread (or genetically engineered) *******s.

I asked for you to reserve your stupid comments, and you cant even show the decency to be mature for one damn thread. You can have your opinions of me all you want, but it wouldnt kill to you show some maturity from time to time.

For those of you who cannot resist the urge to be insufferable *******s, please kindly find a closet and a go self fornicate. I try to share something that I am excited about and you dolts have to f*ck it up. I dont mind the occassional joke, but this is getting old.

Staying on topic would be nice for a change. Im tired of being frustrated of defending myself to you people. I contribute here and I treat people respectfully (at least I do my best to). You guys could try to the same.

ANd as far as the dark spot on the desk, the desk is 60 years old, its bound to have some marks on it. Thanks.

Correct, cable theft is a crime. As mentioned before, I have DirecTV. The hokey wiring job is thanks to getting my TiVO and wanting to hook it up before having the chance to run the wires through the walls (hence the two cables).

When we get some banded samples in, I can make that happen. These are from 2nd round of samples sent to us by the company commissioned to make them.

Just got them in yesterday so I have yet to smoke one. I will solve that about 30 minutes after lunch though. Last night at the local cigar shop I frequent, the owner enjoyed one. Gave it high marks. Its no Opus X or Chateau, but it will make a very nice $5 cigar.

I am curious about the cigars...The only square and delicious cigar that I am familiar with are Padron Anniversarios (very rare)...Are these done by the same compny and if yes, do you have more description of the cigar and what it will cost when available.

I am a cigar lover and have my own humidors and could care less for the fancy package. As long as they are packaged properly in a cidar box and safe for shipping I am happy.

    Thanks!

I think I saw this desk on the Antiques Road Show ...

"I am glad you brought this desk in. What you have here is a turn of the 70's IKEA desk. It has some obvious grease stains from sweaty lucabration. What makes this desk interesting is the lack of a knob on the drawer. One can only speculate about this. Was it ripped off in anger? Was the "business man" trying to locate a snack in a hurry? One can only imagine the deals that went down on this desk ... jet airplane sales, real estate deals, cigar sales, graphic design."

there are many box pressed cigars out there. From what I have read they used to be more popular than they are now; I don't know the details though. The C.A.O. anniversary cameroons were one of my favorite box pressed cigars until they switched to perdomo to make them.

Padrons are very good, I like all of their lines. The 2000's from their regular line is one of my favorites.

When you say, custom commissioned, what does that entail? Is it like ordering an Fcar to spec from the Factory or what?

Not quite. That would be a bit more like getting them straight from Honduras. A cigar maker was contracted to do the job to the specs of the contractor.

You gotta try the anniversarios, especially the madouros (they DO NOT compare to their regular line). They are the best cigars I have ever smoked, full flavored, rolled perfectly, long and silvery ash with the perfect finish after a juicy porterhouse along with your favorite cognac.

I have had a couple and they were very good but I have not had the chance to smoke one slowly and really enjoy one. In my area they have been very hard to find. My local shop couldn't even get me a box of delicias from the regular line. They have had a very hard time getting anything from Padron lately.

I have really enjoyed some of the Torano cigars especially the cameroon wrapper one they have.

Gentry, I see you mentioned Honduras. Are these cigars made with honduran tobacco or perhaps a blend including honduran?

Is there anything you can tell us about them?

  23. gentry

    gentry Guest

They are a honduran blend but they arent set in stone yet. Not much to tell yet since they are still being sampled for the right blend. I'll be happy to post the finaly blends/wrappers when the decision is made.
