Dave, Help me to understand something. Why would you type up this long, drawn-out drama of a "goodbye" only to continue posting to the board under an alias? You realize that your user name is still active, don't you? It wasn't banned, it was your choice to make a dramatic exit. So why the sock puppet? Now, before you or anyone else here starts denying it, let me provide details: A new user by the name of "tantric" registers on April 26, six days after your supposed "last post." He shows some obvious right-wing bias, nothing to be suspicious of (or to be ashamed of in my book), but then he makes this post: (http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=134948176#post134948176) Sounds a bit familiar, no? Well, a quick check of tantric's IP address reveals that it's an exact match for only one other F-Chat user. Now, I know you're aware that it's against forum policy to create and use sock puppets (multiple user names, for those who aren't familiar with the term) and, accordingly, the new account was banned as soon as it was discovered. That's not really my point here, though. What I can't understand is why you feel the need to hide behind a false identity while you take pot-shots at other users. Care to explain?
Not true. The question was asked sincerely without attacks, insults or funny pictures and I would expect the response to be the same.
Nothing against LAFUN but why was he not banned for doing the same....just a question. I am fairly new at this and I am curious as to how this banning works.

He hadn't been able to when he was here, so I doubt he could have now. But the bigger question is why run them out of town in the first place? I disagree with nearly everything Eric posts, but at least he can debate and use statistics and facts. It is the spirited debate that makes P&R entertaining. Funny pictures or posting BWAHAHHAHHA every five minutes has its place as well, but without opposing views this place just turns into a circle jerk. If he left voluntarily, let him go. There are still people on here which bring up Gentry, and he has been gone for months. For better or worse, I have little doubt MMan will be back soon anyway.
As I've explained to Dave via email: Normally, when someone is caught using a second user name, the second account is banned and a PM goes out to the user. Depending on what the second account was used for, that user might receive a temporary ban as well. In this case, Dave made such a public stink about what a terrible place F-Chat had become when he exited that it was only right that the same people who read that post could now see that he never really left and was continuing to sling insults at other users (the reason for the temp ban that pissed him off in the first place), only under an alias. In his own defense, Dave claims that someone else is "spoofing" his IP address and intentionally trying to mislead the site admin into believing that they are him. My biggest problem with Eric the Commie is thread hijacking. He somehow took a thread on stem cells into a diatribe that the USA/capitalists deliberately starve children around the world in the name of profit. (How starving childern results in more profits beats me, but that's Eric the Red for you.) I have him back on ignore so it doesn't matter to me. I just don't understand why some people here keep feeding the trolls. Dale
I'm going to close the thread until there is more info. I'm talking with Dave offline and we'll try to get in contact with Tantric to prove it isn't Dave. So things are "under investigation". Even Dave admits that having the exact same IP and writing style is a dirty trick from his perspective and a strong suspicion from ours.
