www.jpsfunds.com Look under "Automotive," first image. I even took both your image and his image into photoshop and overlayed them...set on multiply to see if it was your image, and it is....exactly. He just did some heavy editing to the roads and deleted the cars following on your background. Of course...nevermind this post if you sold that negative to the kid...which I doubt you did. Looks like he also slightly distorted the car in Photoshop...via the free transform tools. Very easy to do. Just figure I'd clue you in if you weren't already aware of this. Actually, now that I keep looking at it...he did some seriously heavy work to mask the fact that he ripped this image off. I was wondering how he managed to get more of the treeline from your first image onto his revised image, then I realized he used your other photo (the vertical one) and spliced the trees from the background of that image. Crafty little bastard isn't he... A for effort...haha. F for F*** you. Here's my favorite quote from his website: "I bring a lot to the table: Not only am I a photographer, but I am very efficient and experienced in post processing." Well Jonah, it appears you are experienced. Congratulations. I think we ought to email him asking what school he's attending, then email the school first.
callaides, I very much appreciate your attention to this! I think it may be a bit of a misunderstanding, though. Jonah is a dear friend of mine and fellow photographer. He did in fact shoot a number of those photos, as did I (photos taken that day and on many of my other photoshoots). If he did post some of my photos also, he is the only photographer whom I would allow to represent my work, and vice versa -- I have a deep respect for him and his photography, and as such always to invite him with me (when I am able) to shoot photography. We have a mutually beneficial interest in working together. As I said, I did not expect you to know any of this since I have never discussed it here, but I very much appreciate your concern! FYI, Jonah has a screen name here and occaisonally posts, although he does not represent much of his work here. He is a gifted photographer and a down to earth guy, so if you ever see him post or meet him in person, say hello and I'm sure he would enjoy a chat about cars Thanks again!
Just for clarity on the photo above (both are the same as you identified), Jonah shot it off the back of a convertible which I was driving at the time -- so if he really was stealing anything or I held it against him, I could've just pushed his sorry arse off the back deck of the car and let him tumble down the runway!
Thanks for the heads up, I'll remember to give it some extra throttle! Exactly. F-Chat is the only online community I belong to in which members go so far out of the way for each other! Thanks again to callaides...!
Haha, good to see it all is fair and square. I'm still a little gunshy from my soph. year here at school...when I had three art portfolios stolen out of my room, and used by another student at a neighboring school. The guy actually picked my windows and broke in while I was asleep once, and then again in less than one week to get all my stuff. Now I'm glad I hadn't yet sent a viscious email to Jonah... My patience must be improving...
Seriously though, next time you are so sure someone is stealing something just do a little research first. Maybe shoot them an email before you throw all these absolutely ridiculous posts up on the internet for everyone to see. I understand how much it sucks to have people steal your stuff, trust me. But you really should just ask some questions before jumping to such a huge conclusion like this.
