There is nothing wrong with that ad, and it is not "Ripping America" as the kid writing the commentary on the "car buzz" suggests. He either has his own issues with Audi or insecurities about America, or is just trying to stir the pot, looking to get offended. There are indeed plenty of bad roads, there are indeed plenty of ill-maintained vehicles, and there are indeed many hazards and distractions; If any people are offended by this truth, they themselves are the ones with the problem.

The narrator never even says the word "America" in the advertisement, nor do they make reference to the economy in the ad. Why is the author reaching so far to make the claim stated in the headline? What is the author's problem? If anyone is being 'derisory' here, it's the author.

And any American who is not aware of the hazards of the roads and driving should be made aware so we can all make driving safer. The American spirit is to step up to the plate and do something about it, not to cry like a sissy on the internet.

I agree. I still see people holding cell phones to their ear all the time while driving, and the debris that I've seen along the I-15 is scary -- people just throw crap in the back of their pickups and assume it will stay put in 70 mph winds.

Also agree on the attitude. The U.S. is best in the world in many things, but road manners and responsibility aren't among them.

That said, the ad shows U.S. road signs, so it's pretty clear the ad is about road hazards here.

The ad is set inAmerica, but all of those things are true. The commerical isn't saying that America is bad, it's just saying that the road is a dangerous place, and their car will help you get through it.
