Does anyone have any expierence with the A8L? We've got an 03 S500 right now which seems to have more than its fair share of problems and are wondering how audi's would compare.

Haven't owned one, but from what I've read (many times), one of the best vehicles out there - in terms of styling, performance AND reliability.

My neighbors have just recently acquired one in a color similar to Porsche's seal grey and I can tell you based on aesthetics alone the car is positively stunning - strikes you instantly with presence but remains very elegant and understated

FWIW, I've heard Audi's MMI application is much better than COMAND or iDrive for that matter

I really like the A8L. If I didn't steal an XJR, I would be driving that car. Very elegant, and I haven't heard any horror stories about reliability.

i almost bought one when they first came out. it was my top choice but the dealers were being obnoxious about lead times and pricing. in the case of audis, pent up demand only lasts so long. i bailed, bought an S class and sold it within a year.

i'm seriously thinking of replacing the boss's old A4 with pre-owned A8L. they do seem to take a glorious beating on resale - be advised.

great car though - i was impressed. friend of mine in london just bought one and he's smitten.

    give it a go!

    g/l,
    doody.

I bought one for my wife back in september. great car handles like the A6 and good power. depending on the options it can be a real luxo barge. she opted for everything right down to the security package. we have 20k miles on it now, mostly long highway trips. to me its the perfect car for going long distance especially when you turn on the seat massager.

we had one recall issue, the auto trunk would open or close on its own depending on it's mood. and my wife manged to get soda spilled onto the MMI which then the MMI panel needed replacing, the dealer did it under warrenty. the only design flaw it the cup holders sitting aft of the MMI panel. apperently the panel is very sensitve to debris, i.e. food. now if your MMI panel starts acting up then the car can become in my opinion possesed, becouse everything is routed through that panel.

otherwise rocksolid and way better than the last Merc and BMW. the options are astounding the ability to control dman near everything can be intimdating but the car is worth every penny. oh and the AWD is certianly a plus for those who travel to the snow. my favorite thing is the fiber optic cabin lighting with four custom modes. i have it set with a dim light wash on the kids car seats so at night i can keep an eye on them, oh and the seats are to far back for the 'reach back and smack' i remember as a kid ;)
