Anyone know any good Audi Forums? I'm looking to add an '00-'02 S4 Avant or an A6 2.7T to the fleet.

    Thanks,
    Craig

http://www.audiworld.com/ seems to be the largest. horrible software though, and i've found the people there unpleasantly aggressive. just don't say anything negative about any audi at all :)

redhead here turned me on to http://www.audizine.com/ - seems to be less traffic, but maybe a bit geekier crowd.

be careful on used S4s there are a lot of abused-to-hell S4s out there.

I have a buddy with an S4 bi-turbo. It isn't the avant though. It is a great sounding car with an exhaust! Also chip it and power goes from 250 to 320hp! With the chip his torque is 390lb ft I think which is unreal! It makes him every bit as fast as a new M3. You can find a good used one for 18-25k. They don't hold their value very well.

Let me know if you need any further info and I'll pick his brain or get him to email you.

Thanks Jeremy, I'll let you know.

Wouldn't you know it, I haven't even looked at one yet, and I am already dreaming about modifying. Looks like these suckers (2.7T's) pack some serious potential!

Definately going to have to be a 2001.5 or newer. Only years for the Avant.
Now, finding one in Hawaii....that's another story :(

    Uhhh, Hello.........

    Going to Hawaii with it???

S4 Avants are extremely hard to find. Especially one that is not beat up......

A6 2.7 is a different question. Make sure you go for a certified pre-owned as those turbos can be costly if they happen to go. The Certified Pre-Owned program adds an additional two years to the end of the original factory warranty for a 2001 or later and takes the warranty to 100,000 miles. If it is earlier than a 2000 model it adds two years from the day you take delivery.

There are a lot of pre-owned A6 2.7 cars available so be sure to find a good one with no questions. A Carfax is always helpful and the dealer can run the vin and get service records if it has been serviced at an Audi dealer.

Our finance director has an A6 2.7 that he has added suspension, tires, wheels, exhaust and remapped the electronics on. He has also added a short-throw shift kit and the car runs excellently.

    Hey Doody--A geekier crowd?? :)

I tend to stay on audizine more then Audi world, just due to the format. As well, AW people are a little harsh on new people.

I just got my 2000 S4 a month ago and love it. I wish I could have found an Avant, but to no avail.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Here is a little video from our meet back in march it was about 40 degrees so the Audi was the only one who could hook up from a stop.

I race him in one of the shots in my 99 clk-430 and you can see how he jumps while I'm spinning on the line. But you can hear how good it sounds!

As a multiple Audi owner with several hundred thousand Audi miles of experience, I can say that they are fabulous cars and/or a nightmare. Generaly the drivetrain is bullit proof, but due to it's complexity, the electrical componets can be problematic. The electrical shop manual (nothing other that electronics) for a 5000/100/200 is the size of a New York City phone book. Each circuit is not bad indivigually, it's just that there are so many of them. Typical of a luxury car.

All of the turbo models, past and present, are pretty quick out of the box and can easily be upgraded. AudiWorld is more for the newer cars, Audifans is more for the older cars.
