    Just got off the phone with the owners of Riverside Audi.

    They're hosting a cocktail reception this evening from 7pm till 10pm to introduce the R8 (which will of course be in attendance).

    I'm here right now...unfortunately have to head out for a biz dinner tonight in Montclair and won't be able to stick around.

    yeah i got the call also but i literally just walked in the door from boston and heading out to dinner also tonight. I might try and stop by tomorrow for a spin since my RS4's engine is all ****ed up some how.

    Eric,

    How are you? My neighbor and good friend is on the list. Audi flew he and his wife to Vegas to test drive the R8 a few months ago. He said it was an experience that he will never forget. How was the car? He said that it was amazing. An every day car. Its funny the magazine pictures of the interior doesn't do it any justice. He said that the interior is typical Audi. Attention to details! The rear is huge, and the engine bay is amazing. Soon as he gets it, I will drive it and let you guys know what I think. He drives like a wuss, so I will give him a ride he won't forget. Hope he doesn't throw up! By the way, I hate when magazines compare it to a 997C2S. The price point is more GT3. The GT3 will kill the R8.

    Good to hear from you Gary...I'm doing well, hopefully you and the family are doing the same!

    The R8 is beautiful...the exterior is very well done, the interior is absolutely gorgeous and extremely functional/comfortable. The exhaust sound is impressive and with an exhaust mod would scream like the Italians.

    It's going to be a great machine to own and especially one to pick up in the secondary market once the "hoop-la" simmers down.

    I spent pat of the day today in a new C2S Cab and while it's a great machine...the R8 is certainly more stirring. The GT3...as you mentioned is a different story.

    I don't know if I told you but on my 997 C2S I did the Fab speed package. Exhaust, headers and air intake. The car is a different car. Much faster and the sound is impressive. With the roof down, the sound is amazing. I'm spoiled by the exhaust. When the 997 Turbo Cab comes out, it will go right to fab speed.
