I wouldn't mind a little more tire under me. I happen to have a set of OEM Audi R8 wheels in hand. Yes, slightly different PCD. Has anyone tried fitting these to the F430 via a lug adapter spacer or wobble nuts? I think the lug adapter spacers could add to much track width but I am interested if anyone has tried.

For reference, here are the specs of each:

    F430
    PCD 5x108
    Front 7.5J x 19 ET31
    Rear 10J x 19 ET39

    Audi R8
    PCD 5x112
    Front 8.5J x 19 ET42
    Rear 11J x 19 ET50

My humble opinion: don't do it. If you want more rubber get aftermarket wheels with correct offsets.

Yes no doubt the best thing would be compatible ferrari wheels or quality aftermarket with the correct fit. However I am exploring this because I already have a set of very nice R8 wheels.

That won't work. The rears could probably work in a pinch with rolled fenders, but the fronts? Never. Adaptive spacers will usually add at least 25mm to the track of the car, so no dice.

When you say more rubber, do you mean more width for added bite or more profile for comfort?

Which tyres are you currently running?

Not really recommended to use an adapter from 5x108 to 5x112 or 5x114.3 (612, California, 458, etc) because you are getting close to the edge of the adapter for the wheel bolt holes. If you want more grip, get Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Much better than what must be an old set of Pilot sports. If you really want grip, you can go with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s or Pirelli Trofeo Rs, but you would need to go with 235/35 19 fronts. Careful in rain and any temperature much below 40-50F.

I'm running 305/30 ZR19 in the rear and that's with the car at it's lowest point . Don't get me wrong , if I hit a serious dip or bump , there is a little rub but nothing worth losing sleep over .

If those are really the old Michelin Pilot Sport 1st. gen, and not the MPS PS2 or MPSS anything will be better.

Get the new MPS4S in OE size. It's the successor to the current king, the MPSS. Should provide you with grip on a level your old MPS can only dream of.

What's your offset and which rims? Interesting to see that they rub as they're quite a bit smaller in diameter than the OE tyres.

Just for info to the OP. 305/30R19 is not suitable for the 10" wide OE F430 rims. They need at least a 10.5" wide rim.

I am running DPE SL5 steplip in 19x9 , 19x11 . For the life of me , I can't remember the offsets . They rub because the car is sitting at the lowest point and the offset is pushing the wheels out to nearly flush with the fenders....but it does take a significant bump or dip to rub .

    OP : go aftermarket !
